Okay, let's see how long I can make this :)

Chapter Two

Pheonix

"W-what?" I stuttered.

"The world depends on it."

"M-me and C-Caitlyn?"

"Violet, too," Mr. Thomason said.

"Trent?" I asked, my voice more confident.

"No," he grimced, "Trent is not going to help you. You must be on the good side. We have the best things anyone could offer."

I grinned, "Cookies?"

He nodded, "Yes, Pheonix, we have cookies."

I laughed, then stood up, "May I go?"

Again, he nodded, "Yes, and beware of Trent. His power is-how shall I put this?-overwelming."

I stepped out of the office and looked at Mrs. Camen. "Thanks," I said quietly as I walked down the hall to my locker. I grabbed a few things and dropped them into my backpack. I closed my locker and turned to travel back down the hallway when Violet jumped in front of me.

"Hey Pheonix!" she said it like we'd been best friends since we were toddlers.

"Hi, Violet," I almost whispered.

"So, we need to meet Trent at the park in fifteen minutes."

"What?" I asked. "No! I mean, no."

She laughed, "What, do you like him?"

"Didn't Mr. Thomason tell you not to trust Trent?"

She frowned. "No, he said that Trent would help us."

"Help us!" I scoffed, "We don't even now what the heck we're doing! How can he help?"

She srugged, "He said he'd explain at the park, okay?"

I shook my head, "Not okay. Never okay!"

"Fine, I'll go my self!" she ran down the hall to her locker on the otherside of campus.

"Great, now I've gotta work with miss drama!"

Izzabela

"What happened?"

"His voice," Trent said, "It was the one."

"Are-are you sure?" I stuttered. Ah, crap!

He nodded.

"So, now what? Does that mean we have to get Caitlyn and Violet and Pheonix A.S.A.P.?"

He nodded again.

"But...why? Can he hurt them? Do we have to take them to that place?"

"The school?" He asked. "Yeah, we have to."

I cursed out loud right when my mom came into the room.

"Izzabela Niome Maddison Caylocks!" she said, "Why do you think you have the right to swear?"

"Well," I said, with a British accent, "If you must know! I was upset-"

"Well, then..."

I smiled, "Mom, be calm, it happened."
