"You sure you know what you doing? Cause I'm not tryna have my house burned down or the food." I watched August as he attempted to make a seafood boil, NOLA style.
"Girl I got this recipe from my mama. I got this. You just sit looking sexy and watch, quietly." He added some more crawfish to the pot.
"Okay chef boyardee. I'll leave you alone, I guess." I went and sat in the living room to watch tv with Xiamara.
"Mommy I have a surprise for you." She came and sat in my lap.
"You do? What is it ladybug?"
"I can't tell you, it's a surprise. But you gonna loooove it." She pressed her forehead against mines.
"You promise?" I held my pinkie out.
"Promise." She locked her pinkie with mines and I gave her a kiss.
"Wow, now I can't wait. How long do I have to wait?"
"You just have a wait a little bit longer." She pinched her fingers together showing me.
"Alright, I can do that. But what do you want for your birthday? It's right around the corner, already. You're gonna be 6!" I pouted because she's growing up so fast and I hate it. I miss when she was just my small little baby.
