Our babygirl is finally starting kindergarten and I really can't believe how much time has past. I feel like she was just going to her first day of pre-k yesterday. She was so excited to be going to "the big kids school" as she called it. We're going to her orientation tonight so she can meet her teacher and stuff.
"How long this thing gon be? I'm taking my baby out to dinner." Xiamarion said as we walked into the school.
"It'll only be like 30 minuets to an hour, maybe. Chill out."
"I mean, you can come too if you want."
"No, I'm tired and I just wanna go home and get in my bed. I had a long day."
"You just saying that cause you don't wanna go. Always making up excuses, damn." He sucked his teeth.
"Um no, don't do that. I'm actually tired asf. I would come foreal if I wasn't. Shit, I almost didn't even come to this orientation tonight."
He just nodded his head and opened the door for us.
I greeted one of the teachers that was helping parents and kids find their classrooms. She guided us towards Xiamara's class where other students and parents were filling in. Her teacher came to greet us when we walked in."
"Mr. and Mrs. Moiré, it's a pleasure to meet you guys. I'm a big fan of you both." She shook both of our hands, smiling.
"Oh um, it's Ms. Riley actually. Thanks. This is Xiamara. Say hi baby."
