"At some point, I realized that life is much more exciting when my little she wolf is around."

His head tilted as he watched his little mate. It seemed like he was simply studying her features, watching her every movement.

Almost like a pup studying a bug.

It wasn't the look he had before they both left spring haven, and I wasn't sure if to be happy about it. . . or worried.

His revelation seemed to shock Elliot, who was now completely silent. Her silence seemed to resemble the silence of the once busy tent. I looked away from the pair, and realized that most of the people in the room had either quietly left, or were silently tending the wounded wolves that surrounded us. Kyle and Zoe sat together, their heads slightly lowered. I stared at them in confusion, until I remembered just how strong Deimos' presence must be to regular werewolves.

Deimos leaned away from her, before passing his hands through her hair once more. His hands  then trailed down to her right cheek. He gave her cheek a seemingly gentle pinch, before turning to me.

"Anyways."

He suddenly got up, and placed his hand atop her head.

"For now, I'll let you borrow my Elliot."

Huh?

Elliot looked up at him in surprise. "What-"

"You guys need time, don't you? To reminisce and stuff. I believe that is what you mortals do, right?"

So that's what he meant.

"So I'll let you borrow her for a few hours. Just until I come back", he explained, before walking past his mate. "Thanks, Pup", I said, and he simply gave me a sideways glance, followed by a nod. "Oh",

He suddenly turned around, and he looked as if he suddenly remembered something. He turned to the red haired she-wolf sitting next to Elliot, then gestured to the entrance.

"You. Shoo."

The she-wolf became pissed off. immediately.
