That was the last time he interacted with me that day, I kept passing the door waiting for a note but none came. My interest was heightened at him replying, I couldn't make out his voice well. I knew it was a bit husky but maybe because there was a mahogany door between us. I wanted to write him my own message, I had so much to ask, but I didn't want to scare him off and obviously I did since he completely disappeared. I gave up on trying to get a reply after I passed there about the 7th time.

I went on with my day, my knees hurt from kneeling on the tiles of the bathroom floor and working in silence was so annoying like the most I could hear was the wind. I sat on the floor rubbing my sore knees with my wrinkled palms. Why must I be subjected to this, I went out of the bathroom and went to the nearest camera,

"Hey! Can you play music or something? Or can I get my phone?" I felt stupid, talking to a camera. I sighed knowing I would get no response, I took one step back into the bathroom when I heard static, I went to the camera, this is the dumbest thing I've ever done,

"I like Bruno Mars" moments later 'The Lazy Song' started "Thanks" I laughed that was the perfect song. The day got better as he played music for me, for some reason I felt like he wasn't such a fragile person or emotionless person as Theo told me. He seemed pretty nice but what can I base that on? 2 notes, 3 words from behind a door and him playing music for me? I really was losing it basing a man on two gestures which literally meant nothing.

The music ended abruptly and I was plunged into silence again,

"What happened??" I asked from the south wing, no response, I grabbed my bucket and made my way back downstairs. I peeped through a window and I saw Yvonne's car pulling up to the house,

"Was it because of her?" but as usual nothing. She prepped his lunch and when I collected the tray there was another note, 'Yes' was all it said. So, she was, in fact, the reason he locked himself away.

"What are you doing?" I heard her voice behind me, I shoved the note in the pocket of he dress before turning,

"Nothing" I passed her quickly, I could feel her eyes on me the entire way. She spent the rest of the day there suspicious of us, which meant I was back in silence and no interaction. I finished work and was chilling in the kitchen,

"You're doing a great job," she said, grinning at me,

"Is that so? So why are you like that?" I cocked a brow at her, she said nothing, just washed the dishes. I was over being mistreated, I'm here because she asked me to be here if she planned on treating me this way, why hire me. I got my keys and went to my mother's to collect my dogs, I wanted to tell my mother but that contract kept me from talking.

The evening was quiet, Lucy and Tea ran around outside as I tried to get them accustomed to their new space. Lucy was fine, Tea just barked at everything which was really annoying since his barks were so deep with the mixture of a howling.

I didn't feel like cooking so I walked to the gas station for a quick hot dog and some juice. I strolled in slippers and a short pants and vest. The gas station wasn't crowded but I felt uneasy as I approached because of a group of men. When they got sight of me they catcalls and whistles started but I ignored going inside, I kept looking back at them. There were about 5 of them and they just talked to each other on the outside. I wished they would just leave so I don't have to pass them again. My prayers were answered when I saw them leaving.

I took a quiet stroll back home with the chill of the night nipping at my exposed skin. I relaxed in the living room thinking about him, I was so close to seeing him. Tomorrow was the day his clients started coming in, he stopped all work until I was fine working here. Yvonne reiterated I shouldn't talk to any of them other than pleasantries. I didn't even make it to the bedroom I just crashed in the living room at least today I got a shower.

I slept peacefully in on the couch as my body prepared itself for another day when the phone rang. I groaned following the green flashing light from it,

"Hello" I murmured my voice was deeper and I rubbed my eyes trying to rub the sleep away,

"Hello Nylah" a voice so beautiful woke me up instantly, it was husky and deep, it had to be him,

"Uhh hello, who is this?"

"Your boss" something about the way he said your boss, it was beyond sexy, "are you the owner of Great Dane outside my window?" I could hear barking in the background,

"I am so sorry" I ran outside with the phone in hand, going to the front of the house where Tea was barking away looking in the direction of his room, "Tea!" he looked at me for a moment before he continued, "Tea stop" I grabbed his collar but he just continued, Tea never disobeyed me. I looked in the direction he was barking and there he was. I saw his silhouette, he was leaned up against the window with the phone to his ear still. His shoulders were broad and I could see the ripples in his bicep, he was also really tall maybe about 6 feet. I brought the phone to my ear after Tea quieted down,

"I'm really sorry," I said still looking at him,

"That's alright, dogs will be dogs"

"That's true if he woke you I'm sorry"

"He didn't wake me, I was painting the view" I could hear the smile on his lips, "The view is beautiful from up here, and it got even more beautiful a few moments ago"

"I would love to see it from up there" I replied quickly looking up at the night sky, it was indeed beautiful,

"well if you're up here the view isn't as beautiful" he chuckled, "You should get back to bed," he said as I walked back,

"That may be true, but you'd get a better look if I'm there" what was I even saying? He laughed at my response, how could I feel so hot when I was freezing earlier,

"Soon" he mumbled before hanging up. Soon? I liked that. Soon.
