Sam came back from observing and got changed. She turned around and saw that familiar face again.
"What are you doing here?" They both said in unison
"I work here" they both said in time again
It was Dylan, Sam's husband but they separated before she went into the army. Sam rolled her eyes and Dylan put his hand on his forehead.
"Isn't this great?" Dylan huffed
"I was hoping to come to yours tonight anyway" Sam admitted
"How come?" Dylan stared
"It's my first day back from Camp Bastion, I need a place to rest my head" Sam said
"Not really got a choice have I? It's a good job I'm nice" Dylan put his hands on his waist
"Thank you" Sam smiled and put her hand on his shoulder, "I'll wait outside for you"
Dylan grumbled a "yes" then proceeded to put his things in his locker.
They met again outside and got into Dylan's car. Dylan sat in silence while Sam tried to make conversation.
"What have you been up to since I was gone?" Sam asked
"I took Dervla to get a haircut." Dylan said
Sam tried not to laugh.
"I'm sorry Dylan" Sam said
"I've never heard you say that before" Dylan said bluntly
"Dylan, I'm honest. I'm sorry for, I don't know, upsetting you?" Sam said
"Yes, I was very upset. But it's going to take more than that to make it up to me" Dylan parked up
"I will try and make things better, I promise" Sam said
"Ok" Dylan said before he got out the car
The pair walked down to the harbour where Dylan's boat stays. He opened the door and went to say hello to Dervla. Sam put her bag by the door and stood there.
"Oh, I will stay out here and you can have the bed" Dylan put his hands on his hips
"Thank you" Sam said as she picked her bag up again and took it into the bedroom. She came back out again and sat on the sofa next to Dylan.
