"You've never approved of any of my girlfriends, so why do you approve of Lexi?" Kyle asked me, his dark brown eyes narrowed at me.

Kyle was fairly attractive with his dark brown eyes that were twinkling, his short and curly, brown hair, his dark honey-coloured skin. He was attractive and had an amazing personality, and I'd definitely flirt with him if he wasn't straight, and the one one that was at the end of my red string.

Sadly, he isn't the one I'm meant to be with, and he's just found his soulmate, thanks to me, of course.

"I'm the one that suggested you ask her out, remember?" I reminded him, rolling my eyes at my friend.

"Right, why do you insist on playing cupid? You're literally known as the official matchmaker of our school, most of the couples there say you're the one that got them together," he said, crossing his arms like he was unhappy with me.

"Are you not happy with Lexi?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at him.

"I am, but I'm tired of you playing cupid, let people make their own decisions," he mocked, pouting at me.

"I let them make their own decisions...sometimes...I just give them little nudges," I defended myself, shrugging one of my shoulders.

Kyle just rolled his eyes at me, "Whatever, but when are you going to date someone? You deserve a little happiness too, you know?"

I sighed, "Shut up, I know I deserve happiness too...I'm just looking for the perfect person."

"You mean someone tall and gay?" he questioned.

My face warmed up, "No, I mean the perfect person for me, I'm not opposed to a girl or anyone else for that matter."

"Most girls in our year are taller than you, heck, most of the 8th graders are taller than you," he joked, "also, if you stand up, you will find that I'm almost taller than you while I'm sitting down."

"Jerk, and that shouldn't even count, your feet are, like, half a foot of the ground in that chair," I muttered.

"Whatever short stuff, I'm not the one who rounds up my height."

"By half of an inch! Half an inch doesn't matter!"

I picked up my phone as I heard it go off, answering the call from Kyle.

I wonder what happened, I saw him about five or six minutes ago...

"What's up?" I asked.

"There's a new boy at our school, he's starting tomorrow!" Kyle exclaimed, and I swear I could hear the grin.

"And?" I murmured tiredly, he was like this whenever he hears someone new is going to our school, and I was definitely tired of it.

"I heard he's tall," he continued, "well, taller than you."

"You're a jerk face," I muttered, scowling into my phone.

"You know you love me," he taunted.

"I'm pretty sure if we were dating, I would've dumped you by now," I told him, sitting down on the edge of my bed.

"Ouch, you're rude."

"So are you."

"Okay, that's kinda true."
