I stuffed my backpack into my locker, taking out some of my books and transferring them to my messenger bag for today's classes. Kyle just watched me, holding his own books in his arms.

"So, where's this new guy you were gushing about yesterday?" I asked him, closing my locker and turning to look at him.

"His locker is upstairs," he told me.

"How did you figure that out?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow at him.

"I might have done an all out search for a new face after I put my stuff away," he admitted, puckering his lips and glancing away sheepishly.

"You're such a stalker," I said, adjusting the strap on my bag.

"Hey!" he said, sounding like he'd been accused of something, "and plus, he looks like a good fit for you."

"Who are you to play cupid?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"You're not being serious are you?" he questioned, raising his eyebrows at me.

"At least I'm a natural born cupid," I told him.

"You just think you are," he muttered.

"You should take a look at my track record, all the couples I've put together are still together right now," I murmured. "You know Dan and Kai, right? The school's gay power couple? I was the one that got them together two years ago."

Kyle's eyes went wide, "No way that's true. You're lying."

"Then you should ask them," I responded casually.

"Why are you so good at playing cupid?"

"Because I have something you don't"

"What does that mean?"

"Exactly what it means."

"So...shortness?"

"Arsehole."

Kyle leaned in closer to me before our second class started, "There's the new kid."

I watched as a boy with dark brown hair silently walked into the room, taking the empty seat next to me, his eyes trained on the desk beneath him. I felt my face warm up, looking back at Kyle.

"What do ya think?" he asked, smirking knowingly at me.

"Shut up," I muttered.

"If I did, you'd miss my beautiful voice," he said, a smug look on his face.

"Fucking fags," I heard a deep voice mumble bitterly.

My head snapped back to the brunette sitting on my opposite side, my eyes going wide as I saw him glaring at me with a scowl on his face. Kyle stood suddenly, sending a threatening look at the boy.

"What'd you say?" he accused bitterly.

"Unless you're deaf, I'm sure you heard me," the new kid said sharply, rolling his eyes in annoyance as he glanced off to the side.

"You're a fucking arsehole," Kyle sneered.

"Thanks for the compliment," he smirked in a mocking manner.

My friend sat back down in his seat, still glaring daggers in the back of the brunette's head, "I've never met anyone who's as much of douche as that guy is."

"Just, don't mind him. He probably has a reason for being so cold, you can't judge anyone you don't know personally," I told him, though, I kept my eyes locked on the wooden desk I had been sitting at.

"Why are you such a good person?" he asked, and I could definitely hear the frown in his voice.

"I'm a good person because I like to know why some people act the way they do," I said, "a lot of people have their reasons for how they act."

"Screw you and your good conscience," Kyle muttered.

I didn't look up from my desk for the rest of the class.

"Jamie, you look depressed," Elijah - my somewhat older by seven minutes twin brother - commented.

"Thanks for noticing," I mumbled, taking a seat next to him.

"What happened? Having trouble getting a couple together?" he asked, pouting at me.

"No, that's not it. There aren't anymore pairs at our school anyway, Kyle and Lexi were the last ones I knew about," I said, taking a deep breath. "I just kinda found out that the new cute boy at our school is homophobic," I added, a frown tugging at my lips.

"That son of a bitch!" Eli exclaimed, crossing his arms with an infuriated look on his face.

"That's basically what Kyle said, but you shouldn't judge people," I told him, laying limply against the couch.

"Curse you and your morals," he muttered under his breath.

"Kyle said that too."

He suddenly looked curious, glancing at me with hope, "You said there were no more pairs at our school, does that mean mine isn't there either?"

"I don't think so, I just hope it isn't the new kid - Levi, I think," I said, folding my arms loosely over my chest.

"There's no way in hell I'd let my soulmate be homophobic, I'd kick their goddamned ass!"

"I know you would, so I doubt it's him."
