Chapter 17

"Right!"

Honey looked up from her silk cushion and the conversation she was having with her friends to Harry standing in front of him. It was clear to Honey that he had shaken off some of his nerves and she felt happy for the boy, and for the fact that he seemed a little bit more comfortable talking in front of such a large crowd.

"I was thinking, the first thing we should do is Expelliarmus, you know, the disarming charm." A mutter broke out and Honey soon nodded, she had learned it but she had no reason to use it so she knew she'd be quite rusty, "I know it's pretty basic but I've found it really useful-"

"Oh, please!" said Zacharias Smith and Honey's eyes rolled almost instantly at the sound of his voice. She forgot he was there and it was bliss not to hear his voice, she wondered if she could hit him with a spell much more violent, "I don't think Expelliarmus is exactly going to help us against You-Know-Who, do you?"

Honey smirked when Harry soon put Zacharias in his place, who closed his mouth into a tight line when Harry admitted to using such a spell on Voldemort. He offered the door to Zacharias, to see if he wanted to go but he and everyone else stayed put.

"Okay," Harry soon said. The nerves were back but he did a good job in keeping his composure. All the eyes on him made it hard for him to think straight, but the encouraging looks he had from those who believed in him was able to keep him right, "I reckon we should all divide into pairs and practice."

Honey lurched forward and grabbed Dana's arm, a clear indication that the girl was her partner and Dana couldn't help but laugh quietly amongst them. She stood up, her wand in the pocket of her muggle jeans she had on with a Queen band t-shirt tucked in that she displayed very proudly.

She thought it would be a sort of statement. A muggleborn proudly wearing her muggle clothing to learn to fight magic against those who wanted her dead, she was proud of who she was - and Dana had the same idea too.

Honey watched everyone get into partners, feeling rather sorry for the boy Neville who was soon left partnerless. She nudged Dana, a sigh tumbling and wondered if she should invite him to partner up with her and Dana when Harry told Neville he would be his partner.

Honey stood just a bit away from Dana soon after, next to George who was trying to tease her about being way better at the spell and she lifted her fist warningly, watching him jump away from her with a glare. She grinned at him, turning back to Dana who couldn't help but laugh and soon clutched her wand in her hand.

"Right - on the count of three then. One, two, three-"

"Expelliarmus!" Honey bellowed with everyone else, trying her best to get the wand movement properly and shooting it right at Dana. Dana almost shrieked, her wand dropping before Honey could even get it out of her hand.

"Dana!" Honey exclaimed, hands flailing, and Dana merely grinned sheepishly.

"I got scared!" she said defensively, "I didn't know what else to do."

Honey soon felt a nudge on her arm and turned to see Fred and George right in front of her. George pointed to Zacharias just in front of them, and Lee Jordan gestured Dana over whilst Fred pulled on Honey's arm.

In a quiet tone, George whispered, "Expelliarmus," as he aimed his wand at Zacharias and the five of them quickly became interested in different things when the boy whipped his head around angrily. Honey bit her lip to stop herself from giggling too much, her head fallen onto Fred's chest whilst Dana beside her bit her fist from giggling too much.

"Okay, my turn," Fred said quietly. Honey thought it was a bit mean to target the boy, but he was very rude to Harry, and to others too. She didn't like him one bit, he thought of himself as superior and entitled and he could use something to bring him down from his high horse.
