Gift

"Miss na miss ko na ang napaka gandang inaanak ko, buang! Hayaan niyo, pag medyo lumuwag ang sched ko for this month, I will definitely pay you girls a visit.." I heard Kiara say on the other line with sadness laced in her voice.

I chose her to become one of my bunny's Godmother.

"We miss you too, Ninang Kiara. Pero wag mo madaliin ang work mo. We can wait, ano ka ba." I know that she misses us a lot but my bestfriend has tons of work to do.

Kiara is now a well-known and in demand make up artist slash business woman on the side. Most of her big time clients are A-list celebrities, socialites and wives of filthy rich businessmen around the Philippines. I can't blame her if she's that busy.

"Hay.. Alrighty, buang!" She let out a deep sigh. "By the way, did you watch Isabeli's latest tournament at the Asian Games?" Kiara suddenly asked with a hint of excitement in her tone.

My lips rose into a smile. "Of course! Ako pa ba? I'm super proud of her. Another win for the Philippines! Damn, that woman." Naiiling na saad ko. I still can't believe it. She's bagging those golden trophies and medals in the local and international scene effortlessly.

Isabeli Salazar is definitely one of the Philippines' prides.

Her years of hardwork and dedication has finally paid off. I'm really proud and happy for the both of them. They're achieving so much already in their respective careers at a young age. My bunny's ninangs are way too driven in life.

Kiara laughed softly and tsked. "Sinabi mo pa! Ay nako, sana magkaroon talaga tayo ng bonding soon. I already miss my girls. Especially our little bunny! Speaking of Haliya, Malapit na pala ang birthday ng inaanak namin diba?" She inquired, her voice raised a bit.

"Yes, KD." My quick response. "She's turning seven in three months time." I announced to her.

"Ugh, she's growing up so fast, buang. I can't even! Parang kailan lang sanggol pa 'yang anak mo, my gosh." She squealed in disbelief, letting out a hearty laughter.

"Ganon talaga.. Ang bilis ng oras e." I said matter-of-factly, there's a hint of sadness in my tone.

I glanced at our photo together na nakalagay sa ibabaw ng desk ko dito sa trabaho. Nasa bakasyon kami sa isang beach resort sa litrato which was taken more than a year ago. Haliya is sitting on my lap while I'm hugging her in our matching swimsuits with huge smiles on our faces.

I always tell her to not grow up fast because she's still my baby.

"So what are your celebration plans?" Kiara curiously inquired.

I crinkled my nose and scratched my head softly. "Sa totoo lang, wala pa akong idea. I'm going to ask her kung ano ang gusto niya. Tatlong birthdays na kasi niya ang may party talaga. Baka kasi may iba siyang gusto for this year kaya magtatanong muna ako.." Saad ko.

Every other year kasi for the past years ay nagpa-party ako sa bahay for her birthday. Maliit na kids party lang naman with some of the kids around our neighborhood. Not that extravagant dahil hindi naman ako ganon kayaman.
