Martin Diaz-
"I don't see why we have to go to his funeral. Rakim didn't care for us when he was alive and we didn't care for him either" I said to Prince as he straightened his tie and remained silent.
We both dressed in all black and stood outside of his father's home waiting for a car to come that would take us to Rakim's funeral.
"I'm totally gonna be the only white boy there, talk about awkward" Ethan commented from beside me as he ran his fingers through his hair.
"I'm surprised you didn't fake sick like your brother. He just wanted to stay here and mess around with Dana" I said.
From where we stood I could see through the window and into the living room where Lucas rested his head on Dana's breast. I rolled my eyes and focused on Michelle who was coming out of the house with Prince's mother.
"We should talk more about the wedding once the funeral is over. Your style is clearly lacking judging by that attire" Kim said as she placed her sunglasses on her face.
Prince shook his head at his mother and took Michelle's hand while she leaned into him and gave Kim a fake smile.
"It could be worse though, we could be in his situation" Ethan whispered and I nodded in agreement. It's not like he couldn't of told his mother what was going on but he had too much pride to do that, it was almost like he wanted her to suffer.
Sean was the last one to come out of the house and he had a phone pressed to his ear as usual. When two black SUV's pulled up he immediately ended his phone call and cleared his throat.
"We're going to mourn Rakim West, but things can turn very political very fast. Everyone needs to be carrying a gun and I want y'all to watch your surroundings, I've been to many funerals like these and they're never peaceful" Sean warned.
"You think Gino is bold enough to send his people to the mans funeral?" I questioned and Sean chuckled.
"Why do you sound surprised?" He asked as he headed down his steps and opened the SUV door for his wife to climb inside.
"Pray for me" Michelle whispered to me as she gave my arm a gentle squeeze and she and Prince walked passed hand and hand. Even though he was wearing sunglasses I could sense the annoyance on his face which was unusual.
"We get a car to ourselves, awesome" Ethan said as he jogged over to the second car. I rolled my eyes and made a gun gesture to my head pretending to take myself out.
I'd only ever been to my father's funeral and that was when I was an infant. Nobody else close to me had ever died, I wouldn't of even been going to this funeral today if Sean wasn't trying to put on a united front to show he wasn't scared of Gino.
Ethan and I rode in the car behind everyone and once we arrived at the church where the funeral was being held we saw how packed it was.
There was women arguing out in front of the church and some men were getting taken away in handcuffs.
"Oh this is about to be a show" I said as the car came to a stop.
