Chapter 14:
Next week

"Don't know what you did to me"
-Why Don't We (In Too Deep)

Jack couldn't help but stare at Zion and Edwin with a deadly glare. It was currently lunch and he sat across from the lovely couple, a scowl plastered on his face, stabbing his food with a fork mercilessly. They were just sitting there, occasionally giving each other pecks on the lips or telling each other sweet nothings. It sickened Jack greatly. But he can't be selfish again. He just got Zion to be his friend again. But sadly the older still wasn't wearing the known silver ring. Yeah, it hurt; but Jack needed to earn that best friend title back first.

Not standing the couple that was still in front of him, Jack gave a small gag before turning his attention to something else. He looked around the large cafeteria and seen all the other students chatting away with their friends. And when he seen Austin smiling and whispering something in Corbyn's ear, the faux blonde laughing right after, Jack couldn't help but smile. They were back together. Or at least civil with one another.

Jack kept moving his gaze around, it stopping on a different view. It was on the furthest table where Daniel usually sat. And he was there like he was all the time. But now he sat with his arm wrapped securely around Brandon's shoulders. A large smile was plastered on his face as he had a new sparkle in his ocean blue eyes. It was a sparkle that Jack never seen when they were together. And now he knows that it was best that the two went their separate ways for good. Daniel must have felt Jack's stare as he looked, the two locking eyes. The smile Daniel gave him warmed Jack's heart. It seemed like a genuine smile.

Not a grin.

And not a smirk.

A smile.

"Hey Jack, Edwin and I are going to leave lunch early. You'll be okay on your own, right?" The voice of Zion was heard, making Jack turn back to face him. And there went that jealousy again.

"Yeah. I'll be fine" Jack smiled, it being entirely fake. And as Zion left a small peck against his cheek before being dragged off by Edwin, Jack allowed his smile to drop. Zion seemed so happy with Edwin.

And Jack didn't want Zion's happiness to disappear.
