Arc 1.12: A Shitty School Romance

It was a beautiful day for Kai. He had finally realized his feelings thanks to his family's help and he felt better than ever before.

When he arrived at the campus he smiled as he felt the sunshine touch his skin but shivered as he felt the chilly wind blow over him. Winter was over but the chill hadn't gone. Kai walked to his class and sat down while he took out his phone and sent Nik a quick text telling him to get everyone together and to meet at his house after class. Crystal and his parents weren't going to be home today. Crystal was going to a sleep over at her friend's house and the Zhao couple had to leave the city because of work so Kai decided to tell them his feelings at home, away from prying eyes.

[Oh, host. Didn't you know that now that you where going to confess in an empty house anything, and I mean anything can happen?] Lan thought as she shook her nonexistent head at her dense host.

The day went fast. Kai hadn't seen any of the guys at school, even Jacques was absent. Kai was starting to feel nervous as he reached his home, and for some reason a feeling of danger crept to the back of his mind. Shaking his head, Kai couldn't believe he was feeling scared. He was just confessing his feelings, what could go wrong? Lan who could read her host like the palm of her nonexistent hand shook her head again but felt inwardly happy.

[Its about time that host gets eaten] Lan thought in mischief.

Parking his car, Kai glanced at the other four cars parked in the drive way. Reaching the front door, Kai felt his hands start to seat and he bit his lip. Breathing in and out, Kai reached out and turned the door knob. Walking inside Kai closed the door behind him and walked to the living room where he heard voices.

When he walked in, Kai blushed and felt conscious of the four pair of eyes that shot to him like lasers. Looking at everyone in the room Kai nodded and sat down in a fluffy chair. Nikolai was seated in the silver throne like Baroque chair to his right while Eric was standing to his left, Noah was seated in the loveseat and Jacques in the sofa. All of them where in different places of the living room with a lot of space separating them.

"Um, I told you guys to be here because I wanted to tell you something." Kai said as he fiddled with his fingers. "I wanted to tell you guys that I can't be with you three. When you kissed me Eric, it made me confused. At first, I thought that I liked you but as time passed, I noticed that I liked you like a brother. Just like you Noah, you make me smile and laugh and I feel comfortable around you but I like you as a friend, and Jacques, I'm flattered that you love me but I like you like a friend. I can't be with you three, I'm sorry but, I-I love Nik. I love him with all my heart. When I first met him, it was as if time had stopped and my heart beat for the first time. I felt as if I had found my other half. As if everything else in this world didn't matter if he wasn't in it. When I see him, my day brightens and when he's away I only think of him. I feel at home whit him. I have never known what love was, until I met him." Kai said looking at each and everyone of them and then looking at Nikolai's eyes, love overflowing from his heart.

This is love.

The trio smiled in sorrow. They knew this was going to happen but they still went for it anyway.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

This time they didn't loose and didn't gain anything but the hurt they felt at not having his love hit them deeply.

Looking at Kai and Nik who where looking at each other with love the trio of men sighed and decided to back off and support them from the side. They loved Kai too much to make him emotionally upset and distraught again so coming to a silent decision they walked out and left the lovers alone.
