Chapter 12

Katy's POV

I walk into my shop, holding Olly's hand tightly.

I help him sitting down on a chair next to the table and I give him a slice of chocolate cake.

His favorite.

I sit down with him as we wait for Rob.

A few minutes go by as I start to think he won't come.

I don't mind it at all.

I would be so happy if he gave up.

As soon as I thought about it, the door opens and Rob walks in with a teddy bear.

I stand behind Olly's chair and stroke his hair as Rob gets closer.

"Hey, I'm Rob. I'm your mummy's friend." He says as Olly looks up at me.

"He won't hurt you." I murmur, wiping his face as it's all in chocolate.

He slowly nods and looks back at him.

"Olly." He mumbles, touching his chest as Rob smiles.

I go behind the counter as I let them talk but I keep my eyes on them.

Olly giggles as Rob gives him the teddy bear.

I watch them as he hugs it tightly.

I look down as a tear rolls down my cheek.

I quickly wipe it away as he runs to me and shows me the teddy bear.

"Look mama!" He says as I kneel down next to him.

"Oh it's pretty." I murmur as he nods and cuddles to me.

"Thank you again, Katy." Rob says as I look up at him.

I kiss Olly's head as we watch him leave.

"He your new boy, mama?" He asks cutely as I grab my stuff and carry him out of the shop.

"No baby." I say as I put him into his car seat.

"He ok." He says playing with the teddy bear.

I nod slowly as I drive us to the motel.
