unsinkable

Ask her how she got here, and she wouldn't be able to tell you. Once upon a time she was a normal girl with a normal life.

Now here she was traipsing through the woods wearing a beautiful black dress, complete with a pair of amazing black heels and her hair and makeup done.

She looked killer. And she's completely lost her mind.

She didn't even think to argue with Annie when the other girl told her it was laundry day and that everything else had to be washed.

Annie was wearing a white, lacy number that hung to her young curves like was nobody's business. She was much too young for a dress like that. Not to mention that it was nearly transparent and couldn't be worn with any under garments.

"Who does these clothes belong to?"

"Not sure. I picked up a lot of things when I was roaming around. You're not moving again."

Sure enough. She had stopped to admire her shoes again. She's never wore a pair that were so nice and expensive. There was no way these babes hadn't gone for a least a thousand bucks. These crystal studded, suede sandals could make anyone a shoe lover. "You realize these are Jimmy Choo, right?"

"You're taking much too long."

Jess let her dress drop back down to her sides. She felt like a fairytale princess. One that was trekking through the woods instead of going to the ball. "Why are we going so far?" This wasn't the first time she's asked that, but it was the first time that she would actually have liked an answer.

She sighed and started walking again. The only reason the girl had managed to rope her into all of this is because she had needed the time away to think. Or not think in this case.

She didn't want to think about how free she's felt since last night. Free was just another word for empty. She was empty. She could feel Kell only enough to know that he was alive and well. The last thing she wanted to think about is what that could mean.

"I doubt Jimmy Choo is even alive anymore and I definitely shouldn't be running around a forest in his shoes."

"He's alive."

"Nice thought but you can't know that. Anyone else who's alive that I should know about?"

"Liam Hemsworth is alive. I love Liam Hemsworth."

"Who doesn't? What about Chris Hemsworth? He's more my type."

"He's alive too."

Jess heard the river before she saw it. The place Annie had brought her to was deeper, rougher. The water churned on a mission to get downstream.

"Annie, we can't wash clothes here. We didn't even bring the clothes with us. We need to go back to where we left them and do the laundry there. This____."

"Do you trust me?"

"Sure, but like I said, we need to go back. We____."

"He won't come for you there. Remember that Prince from that little island? The one who was so popular with all those women and the tabloids were chasing him everywhere? He's alive. Most his people are alive too. Just lucky, I guess. Your cute friend is alive. He's with Zon. Julian and Adrian are not far behind. As soon as they reach me, I'll send them to help you. Everything will be fine."

Frowning, Jess turned to see if she could see them. "How do you____?"

For a little bitty thing, Annie was pretty strong and the currents in this part of the river were just as strong as they looked to be.

She was going to drown. Instantly, she was engulfed by water and black organza.

She barely heard Julian's cry before she was sucked under and met with darkness.
