Chapter 55

Things were definitely less tense than before even though they still haven't talked at least it wasn't so awkward now. Hasu would glance at her from time to time, wanting to say something but quickly falter.

Carter decided to join the group patrolling with permission from his mentor. His hero outfit made him look like a bit of an assassin. Ryouka happened to be taking a walk around the area and met Carter. Then, they saw Emi and everything went on from there.

" What was that for?" Hasu asked slightly above a whisper. Carter gestured to Emi and signalled him to say something. He shook his head and Ryouka rolled her eyes. She pushed him forward where he was right next to Emi. " Hey, uh, Emi."

" Yes?" He swallowed his pride, the hairpin really did suite her.

" You were really cool back there." He complimented. " I'm not saying this because you beat me, don't get me wrong I'll have my revenge-" He paused as he saw her smile and she actually laughed a little.

" Come on, Hasu." She said with a smile. " I'm not mad at you anymore, relax. Desperation and anxiety makes you do a lot of crazy things. Trust me, I would know. I'm glad you're finally talking to me again." Hasu returned the smile and they were talking like they used to.

" You know the funny thing is this kind of situation feels somewhat genderbended." Mari said with a smirk. " What?"

" Where did you come from?" Carter asked looking around. He turned around and there stood Kuro with a pocky in his mouth. He jumped and screemed in a high pitched voice. Kuro laughed as Mari took several pictures. " You two have to stop doing that!"

" Mari, Kuro!" Emi turned and gave them both a hug. That evening patrol was full of mended relationships and friendly teasing.

" Today was nice," Emi informed her classmates, Iida handed her a mug of hot cocoa. " Thanks, Tenya-chan."

" Ayy, Iida. First name basis already?" Tenya turned a bit red with Kaminari's statement but gathered his courage and spoke up.

" We...." His classmates leaned in trying to catch what he's mumbling.

" Iida, speak up. We can barely hear you." Uraraka said to him. Unfortunately, he was already lost for words.

" They're dating." Joel said out of nowhere. " I came to check on Emi." The class cheered.

" When did this happen?"

" Have you gone on any dates?"

" Was there any nice places you went on?"

" N-No.." Emi placed a hand on his shoulder and he blushed. " Emi?"

" Let's go." She pulled him away and dragged him out of the dorm building.

" What just happened?"

" I think they're going on a date."

It was quiet outside, they didn't need to go far just out of sight. Emi invited him to sit down next to her on the grass. He hesitated but took the invitation. He's known her for so long, over the years she's changed and gome so far.

" Does this count as a date?" Iida asked her, fixing his glasses. She shrugs and smiled. " What? You're silent all of a sudden."

" I just feel like it." She said as she streatchef and laid down on the grass and he joined her. " I can't believe everything that happened. Don't you ever feel like time passes so quickly? After everything I've done, my colours left, I have a way higher limit now and then, we got together..."

" Is, something wrong with that?"

" No, I just- It's sudden and still a bit new to me, that's all." They watched the stars above, painting the dark night sky with its glow. " Where do we go from here?"

" I don't know, but I hope," Iida stared into her soft grey eyes and smiled. " I get to spend this life with you."
