6. Finally

'Elena' Damon called rushing up to her as she walked out of Whitmore College

'Hey, what a coincidence I was just on my way back to Mystic Falls to see you'

'What happened?' he asked frantically

'Nothing happened' Elena smiled touching Damon's arm 'we just talked, don't worry'

'Elena I think you should be careful around Diana, she's a lot like me, well the old me'

'I know Damon but I can take care of myself'

'I'm sorry Elena I'm just so worried, I want to make it up to you though, tonight at my house'

'A date?' Elena asked casually

'Definitely a date' Damon confirmed

'Good, see you then' she giggled

'It's finally happened' Elena said bursting into her dorm room

'What has?' Caroline panicked jumping up from her desk

'Damon has asked me out!' she squealed

'What do you mean aren't you guys dating?' Bonnie replied putting her book down

'No, why would you think that?' she questioned

'Ah I don't know maybe cause you guys do everything together?' Caroline explained

'You do everything with Stefan are you dating him?'

'What, no that's different Elena'

'No it's not, Damon and I flirt and stuff but we've never been on a real date or talked about our feelings so, this is it' she smiled

'Well I'm happy for you' Bonnie told her

'Oh also I met Diana' Elena told them

'What? Why wouldn't you lead with that?' Caroline snapped 'what happened?'

'Oh nothing' Elena laughed 'she tried to interrogate me in the cafeteria that's all, it didn't work'

'I'd watch out for her Elena' Bonnie said

'Yeah, well get this, she's best friends with Katherine'

'Yeah that seems about right' Caroline sighed 'how would she even know her?'

'The same way Stefan and Damon do, I wouldn't be surprised if she turned her, yet I never thought Katherine would actually have a best friend though'

'Damon probably turned her' Bonnie explained 'some people seriously cannot live without their twin; it's like losing a piece of their soul. You should ask Damon tonight'

'Ah, I'll try' Elena replied.
