Cheryl looks over to her friend, "Your parents are coming?"

Just then the waitress brings over their ordered drinks. They all know what the owner wants to drink and so they bring her that when the other drinks are brought. "Do you need more time to decide or are you ready to order?"

Cheryl looks to Shelly, "You order for me. I'm still to lost in my thoughts to decide."

Eric looks thoughtfully at Shelly, "Yes, why don't you order for us both? Just make sure that you order enough for a growing boy." Eric smirks at her. Through the months he and Shelly have gotten to know each other pretty well and he likes to tease her quite a bit.

Shelly smirks at him, "Yes, you've gained a bit of weight. You're not getting enough excersize there in the city."

Eric gives her a pouty look and looks away from Shelly and takes Cheryl's hand and plays with her fingers.

Matt gives his order and then Shelly gives the rest of the orders.

As soon as the waitress leaves Cheryl pins her gaze on Shelly. "You called your parents? When did you do that?" She's been urging Shelly to do so for more than a year and Shelly has always refused telling her that she's not ready to do so.

"When you went to inspect the office space. I told them about you and about me being mates with Matt who is alpha. Their first reaction was fear for me and asking if I was calling for them to break the mate bond."

Matt stiffens with this news. He had never even thought about her parents and how they would take the news of her being mates with an alpha.

"It's alright, Matt. I told them that the pack mostly understands and has accepted me as their luna. I think they are still in shock that I'm willing to stay with you. Or perhaps they are in shock that a pack is willing to have a luna that is a witch. Don't be surprised if they ask all kinds of inappropriate questions in regards to the pack. They are just worried about my safety. I'll tell them off if they ask for something totally none of their business." Shelly says to Matt and takes his hand in hers. Matt immediately relaxes with her touch.

"Have you told them that we are getting married?" Matt says and with his words Cheryl jumps out of her chair.

"What?"

Shelly gives Matt a dirty look.

Cheryl doesn't even notice the looks she's getting from the other diners. Of course most of them could hear the discussion but they've ignored it. Now, they start paying attention. That is until Matt looks at them with a steely look. Then suddenly they find something else to absorb their attention.

Matt answers Cheryl's question, "I asked my lovely mate to marry me and she said yes."

"When was this?" Cheryl demands. She can't believe that Shelly didn't tell her something this big.

Shelly looks down embarrassed. The red takes over her face and goes down her neck. "I meant to call you, Cheryl, but things just got crazy busy and I forgot. He asked me last week."

Shelly looks up and with pleading eyes looks at her stunned friend. Cheryl starts to sit down and Eric hurriedly sets her seat behind her. "I can't believe you didn't tell me something that big. I've told you everything." Cheryl is a bit hurt that Shelly didn't tell her about the proposal. She does understand about life getting crazy. Of course she does, but that's still something big. She always believed that that is something you shared with your friends.

"Shit, Cheryl, honestly it just was lost among everything else that's been going on. You know I wouldn't keep something like that from you intentionally right? Besides, if you are up to it I want you to be my matron of honor. I know that you are terribly busy with things and once the pups come you'll be even busier, but there isn't anyone else..."

Shelly trails off as Cheryl holds her hand up to stop her. "I know, Shelly. Just stop for a bit, I need time to process everything."

Eric takes her other hand in his and gives it a squeeze.

Just then their food starts showing up and all speaking stops as the males are busy inhaling the food and Cheryl is lost in thought. Shelly sits there mostly playing with her food as she bites her lip.

By the time Cheryl finishes her meal she has things under control once more. "You called your parents. That is perhaps even bigger than you getting married. Tell me what made you finally take that step?"

"You." Shelly says succinctly. "You need to find the witch and through her the person that broke into your apartment. They can help you with that. I have power yes, but not the kind you need. They have the power of authority and will be able to find out the information for you.

"Cheryl, I would never do anything to hurt you and with all you've done to help me, I just want to help you back." Shelly says earnestly looking pleadingly at Cheryl for her to understand.

"You called your parents to help me?" Cheryl says looking at Shelly in awe.

"Yes," Shelly says then looks down biting her lip. She can't look at Cheryl afraid of what she'll find.

"Shelly, look at me please?" Cheryl says softly.

Reluctantly Shelly looks up, "Thank you. I know that must have been very difficult for you to do. That you were willing to do so to help me-you don't know just how much that means to me."

Cheryl gets up and goes around the table and gives Shelly a hug. What Shelly did means more than what she didn't do and all hurt at not being informed about the engagement is forgotten.

"Of course we'll meet with your parents. What time and where?" Cheryl tells her as they hug.

"They said that they'll be here for lunch. They are very likely already on the road, but still it's a long drive. So, say one? We'll meet here for lunch and to talk."

Eric looks over to Cheryl pleadingly. If she says no all they'll have for lunch is sandwiches. Cheryl sniffs at Eric's look. "Yeah, I think Eric will tie me up and haul me here if he has to. We'll be here. I would very much like to meet your parents."

"We can meet with my father in the morning?" Matt says uncertainly. He knows very well how much Cheryl hates mornings. After that first day of having her show him up he never again had her do morning sparring. Instead, the classes for the females had always been in the afternoons or evenings.

"No earlier than ten, Matt." Cheryl warns and Eric is looking at him cautiously.

"Then let's say ten. I think I can rearrange the other meetings to fit in you at ten and lunch with my in laws at one." Matt says absently even as he links with his father.

Matt nods, "Dad says that he'll be able to make it at ten and will rearrange my schedule."

With that the waitress comes over and asks if they would like dessert. Matt and Eric both answer positively and the two girls give them half amused and half disgusted looks as they decline.
