Nia and Joe were in their hotel room. It was silent, as most nights
were. Nia sat there wondering if Joe would ever make a move on her.
She would even be satisfied if he asked her about the weather as it
would have been more exciting than sitting its silence.

Even though she knew it was a lost cause she spoke up, "They tell you
when your next match against Roman will be?"

Joe stared up at her with a blank expression "at Money in the Bank,"
he said and scrolled through his phone.

"Is it for the title," she asked, hoping to get something else from him.

"Yeah," he simply said.

"When are they going to announce it," Nia asked.

Joe let out a breath before rudely answering, "I don't know, I guess
next week. Does it matter?"

"I'm just trying to have a conversation with you," Nia said, a little
taken back by his tone towards her, but not entirely surprised.

"I'm sorry," he apologized, this time surprising Nia, "I just don't
really wanna talk right now," he finished, but this time she wasn't
surprised. He said this all the time.

"But I just thought," Nia started but was interrupted by Joe.

"Well you thought wrong," he said. His tone wasn't as harsh as before,
but it was still hurtful.

Nia got up from the bed they were supposed to share tonight, "I'm going
to visit Trin for a moment," she said, walking out to find Trin's
room.

When she left the room she let a tear fall before quickly wiping it
off. She scurried to the elevator but was stopped.

"Nia, are you okay," Joe's best friend, AJ, asked her.

"What? Of course, I am fine," Nia tried laughing it off, but AJ could
see right through it.

"You know I can tell when you are lying," he said.

"But I am seriously fine," she said, trying to sound more convincing,
"look, I would love to stay here and chat but Trin needed me in her
room," she lied to him and rushed past him.

Nia made her way to Trin's room and knocked, Trin immediately
answered, "hey, let me guess, Joe?" Nia didn't have to say anything,
Trin knew. "Come on, I have an extra bed you can sleep in, Joe won't
miss you anyway." Nia walked past her into the room and sat down on
the cleaner bed, the one she assumed Trin wasn't sleeping on.

Trin sat across from her, "wanna talk about it," she asked gently.

"Do you think I'm ugly," Nia asked Trin. Trin was a little taken
back by the question, not realizing if that is what she thought of
herself.
