Joe

Joe walked into the house and passed out in the bed, not really noticing or caring that his girlfriend wasn't there.

The Next Morning...

Joe had gotten out of the shower and found his phone on the floor. He saw he had a voicemail and clicked it.

Nia: So, Joey. By the time you listened to this, I am already gone. Look, I love you way too much to see you drink yourself to a hospital or even your death bed. Now I'm not saying that we are done, but I feel like I just need a break. Joey, you are honestly the best thing to ever happen to me. You have changed, and you aren't listening to me. I think it's best if we don't have any contact, so my phone will probably be off. Remember that I love you, Joey. Please for me get help. Bye, Joey.

Joe played the message multiple times and tried to call Nia only to get no answer. He punched the closest thing near him, which happened to be the mirror on the dresser. Joe felt the glass cut up his hand but he couldn't care less, he went outside to his punching bag and just hit away. His hands stung and slowly bruised.

Joe sat outside for the longest time it felt like hours of just sitting, doing something he hadn't done in a long time. He actually cried, he had really fucked up this time. It cost him one of the only people that care about him in this fucked up world. He heard his door open and he looked up, it was AJ. "I'm here to help," said AJ. "Where is she AJ," asked Joe.

"I don't know, man. If I knew I would tell you" lied AJ. With the help of AJ, Joe cleaned a wrapped up his hand. "I need time to think, I'll be back," said Joe. While he was gone, AJ cleared the house of an alcoholic beverage he could find. Joe had been gone for maybe 3 hours now. AJ needed to check on something. He walked outside and reached for his phone.

Nia ~

Nia had made it to Tamina. When she was questioned about everything she promised she would answer in the morning. Nia was trying to get some sleep, but her mind wouldn't let her. Her phone rang, she grabbed it and almost pressed decline thinking it was Joey. She answered to AJ.

Nia: What's up AJ?

AJ: Sorry to wake you. But I wanna know how you are doing?

Nia: Thanks for checking. I made it find, I attempted to sleep but I keep thinking about Joey.

AJ: I have him handled, He is my best friend and I don't wanna see him hurt himself. He punched through the mirror and busted his knuckles after attacking a punching bag. But I have gotten rid of the alcohol in the house so, I think I'm off to a good start.

Nia: Which house, we own a house in Kissimmee, it's on the lake.

AJ: fuck, I gotta go an find him. Can you send me the address?

Nia: Find him, how do you lose a 6'2 Samoan man.

AJ: Calm down, I can do this. Enjoy Honolulu.

With that AJ hung up the phone and left Nia in a bundle of her own nerves. Nia threw her phone to the opposite side of the room and laid on her bed.

AJ~

AJ had driven the two hours to the address Nia had sent him. He pulled in the driveway and grabbed the extra key. He unlocked the door and walked in. He was too late, the table water littered in beer cans and there was Joe with an half-empty bottle in his hand.

"Joe wakes up," said AJ. Joe drunkenly sat up, "AJ, my friend. What's up" slurred Joe. He got up an took a swig from the bottle. AJ followed him, "I thought you were going to get help," said AJ. "What's the point? I already lost the love of my life. There is no way out" said Joe. "Maybe, if you didn't treat her like complete shit and actually treated her like she was the love of your life. You wouldn't be in this situation" said AJ. "She's gone, she was one of the only people who cared about me," said Joe. "How about you stop being an asshole, and get help," said AJ.

This angered Joe and he swung on AJ, hitting him in the mouth. AJ tasted blood, he backed away from Joe. "If this is what you want then I am gone, but know that you have successfully lost everyone that cared about you," said AJ. AJ left the house and didn't look back.
