We stood from our spot on the floor and went to Kurama's room where we decided to play some video games. We had never really spent any time together so this was something new, something I enjoyed. After a few rounds of playing, there was a knock at the door. "Come in!" Kurama called, our parents peaked in through the door and smiled brightly upon seeing us.
"Mind if we join?" They asked, motioning to the gaming console.
"Come on," I motioned them, handing them each a controller. They took a seat on Kurama's bed while my brother and I sat on the floor in front of the bed.
We laughed as we played, yelling out meaningless threats about grounding us if we won, which we beat them anyway. We had fun, made jokes, ganged up on our parents. I couldn't help but wish things like this could continue forever.
