Fun Facts About This Story

- Not a chapter but still something fun -

• 80% ish of the story was written between 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., on my phone, hence the typos and weird editing glitches. While 20% ish of it was written in class or during break times in my university.

• I wrote about 23 pages worth of plot points before starting the story, so the idea flows faster and all I have to do is structure the words.

• This whole story concept was inspired by this GIF:

• I dream of many random things and I get a lot of ideas from them. If i dream of something (assignments, story, etc) when I stress about them enough, it usually ends up well. This story was one of them.

• At one point, a sub plot of a love triangle between Sousuke and (Name), and Rin and (Name), was supposed to be there, but I decided against it and kept everything focused on Sousuke x (Name).

• The name "Clyde" (band member who plays the drum) is the main character of my unpublished original story.

• Despite writing about music and bands, and wanting to be famous, I am quite the opposite. I know nothing about music, and I want to live being ordinary and happily skulk in the shadows (people should not learn of my existence but I'll be glad if my work both art and writing are in the spotlight)

• At first, I was more attracted to Makoto, but then I read a Sousuke x Reader fanfic written VERY well by an absolutely talented author (bless you) and I just fell for him. Hard.

• The name Azure Beats is inspired by the Album title of Free! Original Soundtracks;  "Clear Blue Notes" and "Ever Blue Sounds".

• The concert arc, specifically the part where (Name) sings to a special someone was inspired by the song Only Exception by Paramore.

• I update this story often because I tend to forget the details and If I took too long to update, I will forget most of what i wrote before and I will need to reread everything, which was more of a hassle compared to updating often.

• What really made me want to write this fanfic was because I dreamed of Sousuke one night. In my dream, he was my boyfriend and he gives really nice hugs. He is also very clingy.

• in the beginning, each chapter is only about 1000ish words long, but after a while, each chapter became 2000-2500 words long because I can't seem to write short :')

• Author-chan, despite starting out as a writer years ago, is also an illustrator, and makes a lot of artworks, mostly active on Instagram

• Just something I find mindblowing: Makoto's voice actor, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, is the main vocalist of OLDCODEX (which happened to be a (metal-ish) rock band), and he sings all of Free!'s opening songs, and many other anime opening and ending songs.
