I slowly open my eyes to find myself in a hospital bed with brad crying floods of tears next to me.
"Brad?" I say weakly
"Poppy..." he starts crying again but he kisses my hand
"What?" I ask
"It's Ella. she's not okay" he sniffs
"Is she dead" I say
"No but she's critically ill and there's a high chance of death" he tells me and I start crying.
"It's all my fault. I had a bath, I'm so stupid" I cry
"It's not your fault, we should've had a take-away" he kisses my forehead.
Suddenly my parents come in the room.
"Oh poppy, are you okay?" asks my mum
"It's not me I'm worried about. Ella might not make it" I cry again
"Oh dear" my dad says
"I'm sure the doctors will help her get better" my mum says
"I hope so"
"I will go and check on Ella. see how she is" brad says and he kisses me quickly and leaves.
"How did it start?" asks my mum
"A pizza" I laugh but it turns into crying.
The doctor comes in.
"Poppy needs some rest if you wouldn't mind?" he asks my parents
"Okay but whenever you need us, we are here!" my mum kisses my head
And they leave.
"Umm doctor?" I ask
"Yes?"
"How's Ella? my daughter?" I ask
"Uh, she's not too good at the moment we are doing all we can" he says
"Seems like that's not enough" I whisper to myself then I go to sleep.

I wake up again brad by my side his eyes red, face pale, hair messy and his mouth dry.
"What's wrong?" I ask
"Just. go back to sleep." he says
"No. what's happened?" I ask
"It's Ella..." he starts but I understand.
"No!" I cry into the pillow.
"How long ago?" I ask
"An hour" he tells me.
"It's not fair. why couldn't I die?" I weep
"Don't you dare say that" brad says
"It's true. she had her whole life ahead of her" I scream
"IT'S NOT FAIR!!!" I shout
"Calm down poppy" brad holds my hand
"We'll make it through this awful time i know we will" he smiles
"How can you smile?" I ask
"Because I love you and i know that you are stronger than this and you can get through the storm and then dance in the sun" he kisses my lips.
"I love you" I whisper
"I love you too" he kisses me again
