A Fight For My soul

There was a dark blanket seeming to cover my body.
Holding me down, restricted by nobody.
But the ones who aren't human.
Why do you attack me when I lie down to sleep?

Leave me, so I won't fall into the deep.
The whispers at night,
calling my name you do.
I will not stand for this,
your banishment is long overdue.
Therefore I banish you from my kingdom, you will not torment me any longer.
I condemn you back to hell where you belong.

You see, I could not walk nor run away from you in my dream,
Because you had taken me as a host and I was fighting for my soul.
I will not read from your scroll,
Words of death and lies.

I tried to scream but the entity invading my body would not let me.
"Pray, pray!"
A voice screamed to me.
"Lord save me." I cried, trying to find my voice.
I screamed for the Lord God to save me, as if I had a choice.

Fingers became ice and my body felt as if it was lifting off my bedding as if I was angering something within me.
I fought for my life,
and I was awakened in the dark of night.

I woke myself with my own screams,
My strangled voice screaming and commanding the entity to get out.
"Get out, get out, get out." I screamed, now awakened and feeling the strong sense of a presence.

But as I screamed and prayed,
And the spirit was gone,
Leaving me alone in my room as if nothing had happened.
And my window slowly became a source of incandescence,
Lighting up my room once the intruder had left,
hopefully never to return with vengeance.

One of the scariest experiences of my life.
