The moment Jax saw Vannessa, it felt as if he was stuck in time. She was just sitting there, staring back at him with an unfathomable look on her face.

He didn't even realize it was her during the first seconds.

The first time he saw her after a very long time was a disaster, not to mention she had mistaken him to be someone he wasn't. Thinking about that, he wondered if she knew what had really happened.

No amount of persuasion did the trick for her to change her mind. She was adamant to hear an apology from the girl. Jax was just hoping for the best for both parties.

It looked as if she was alone. He couldn't see her friend, Greg, anywhere, and he couldn't help but feel worried about her.

Luckily, it looked like she wasn't up to drink.

So, why was she there?

Jax had a hunch, but he didn't know how to confirm it nor did he think that he was in the right place to even confirm the matter.

"She's pretty, right? Medyo pamilyar din. Pamilyar, 'no, erp?"

For Jax, she wasn't just familiar. She was someone who happened to play a role in his life one time, a huge role, infact.  And even after years had passed, she still had that effect in him.

That was when he saw it. There was something with the way she looked at him. Her lips were slightly parted, and her brows were slightly furrowed as well. Her countenance spoke something. It was the countenance of someone who looked disgusted over something.

Naramdaman niya ang pagsikip ng dibdib dahil d'on. That was probably the longest time she did nothing but to stare at him, and her eyes spoke nothing but disgust. Jax had never felt as taken aback by someone's expression before as he was at that moment.

He couldn't help but question why. He never did anything against her. He just didn't understand. He had already accepted since the moment she had a relationship that they'd never be together, and that they'd always have some space between the both of them.

He had always respected that. That was why nothing really came up in Jax's mind whenever he thought about the reason why she looked at him that way.

Somehow, Jax preferred the time when Vannessa didn't even bother looking at him than the time when she did but she looked at him with disgust in her eyes.
