"Twinkle, twinkle little bat, how I wonder where your at. Above the world you fly, like a tea tray in the sky." Maddie sang under her breath as she left Ben's study, deciding she'd much rather go to classes than keep this on her mind forever.

Maddie made her way down to the Tourney Field, there to watch the players practice and take the words of Quinn out of her head. To put off telling Mal and her friends for as long as possible.

"Alright Mads." Ben said, placing a hand on her shoulder as he had noticed her daze since she'd woken up. But he hadn't said anything knowing she'd come to him if she had any problems, or so he thought. "I'll see you after practice."

"Okay." Maddie said, as he smiled and she smiled back, a pained smile but Ben had seen it as a real one. She watched him jog into the field, before taking a seat in the bleachers.

"Jay, Ben, offense." Coach Jenkins ordered as soon as the boys situated themselves on the field. The man had always had been one to get to the point. "Chad, you're defense. Taylor, you're the shooter.

"Right, coach!" Taylor called getting into his position.

"Hey. Hey! Hey, you. Lost boy!" Coach Jenkins called to Carlos who wandered the field like a lost puppy, but looked at him questioningly, pointing to himself. "Put your helmet on. Get out of the kill zone! Come on."

"Kill zone? Wha..." Carlos stammered, fiddling with his helmet as he struggled to put it on.

"Pick it up. Put it on! Two hands." Coach instructed as Jay came barreling through the field, doing flips and turns to avoid getting hit. It seemed as if he had been doing this all his life, but he seemed to be breaking some of the rules which he technically had been doing all his life.

"Ahh!" Jay said as he barreled through a couple more players who looked back at him questionably.

"Jay, It's me!" Carlos gelled, as Jay came closer. "It's Carlos! Wait, stop. Jay. Stop! No, no, no, no. No!" Jay leaped over Carlos.

"Ahh! Oh, yeah! Come on, let's go! Oh! Whoo! Whoo, whoo! Oh! Oh!" Jay said, doing a victory dance though no one joined him, all too stunned at what had just happened.

"What just happened? Who is this guy?" People murmured, which made Maddie want to laugh as if they had not been watching the Auradon News which had been playing the VKs arrival multiple times on the TV.

"You! Get over here! What do you call that?" Coach Jenkins said to Jay, though it was hard to tell if he was angry or not. "I call that raw talent. Come find me later. I'll show you something you haven't seen before. It's called a rule book. Welcome to the team, son." He turned to Carlos. "You ever thought about band?"

Jay chuckled as Carlos narrowed his eyes at him.

"I'll work with him, coach." Ben said, placing a hand on Carlos' shoulder.

"All right. Let's run that again." Coach said, as the crowd cheered.

Jay brushed his shoulder hard against Chad as he walked past.

"Ow." Chad said, wincing in pain. Maddie thought he deserved it anyway.

"Those kids are trouble." Chad said, motioning toward Mal, Evie and Gigi, knowing full well they could hear him.

"Bye, Mal."Evie said, as she headed to Chemistry, which was the class Maddie had next. She was going to be late. Again.

"Bye." Mal said, waving toward Evie as she peered on the other side of her locker, watching Audrey, Chad and Ben ever so subtly. Maddie opened her locker, which wasn't that far from Mal's, taking out her chemistry notebook, before shutting it again.

"Come on, Chad. Give them a chance." Ben reasoned, as Audrey removes her sunglasses.

"Oh. No offense, Bennybear, but you're just too trusting." Audrey said, holding both of his hands in hers. "Look, I know your mom fell in love with a big nasty beast who turned out to be a prince." Audrey said, sweetly as if she was being kind at the moment. "But with my mom, the evil fairy was just the evil fairy." She lowered her voice, though Mal could still hear her. "That girl's mother."

"I think you're wrong about them. I'll see you later." Ben said.

"I for one agree with Ben." Crystal piped up, shutting her locker and walking away from them with Ben and stopping next to Mal and Gigi. "Hey!"

"Hey."Mal said, though she didn't seem enthusiastic to see him.

"Hi." Gigi said, shutting her locker, and turning to face Ben and Crystal who smiled at her.

"How was your first day?" Ben asked, leaning next to the lockers.

"Super." Mal said, though it seemed forced, her eyes widening mockingly as if daring him to question her.

"Awesome." Gigi said, and she seemed generally happy about it, as if she had enjoyed her stay in Auradon.

Ben surveyed the art on Mal's locker, a silhouette of her mother with the words long live Evil scrawled across it, a tagline Maddie had seen many times on the Isle.

"You should really think about taking this talent off the locker and into art class. I could, uh, sign you up. What do you think?" Ben said, leaning against the locker more looking down at Mal hopefully. Mal seemed unfocused as she caught sight of Jane who squealed in terror as she headed into the bathroom.

"Way to take all the fun out of it." Mal said, shutting her locker and turning her back on the future king of Auradon, heading toward the bathroom with Gigi where she would probably berate the daughter of Fairy Godmother about the wand that was so oh so precious to her mother.

"Huh." Ben said, as Maddie patted his shoulder before heading toward the bathroom where should could tell the leader of the VKs about her.. dilemma.
