I fall asleep,
my leg across yours,
in the deepest recesses
of your parents' house.
We wake up for brief moments
just for me to check my phone.
Falling back to sleep,
I go to grab your hand
and look at your face,
absolutely astonished
at how lucky
luck itself could ever be.
You look back
a bit scared, curious
at why I'm not smiling brightly.
I look down, chucklin'
because I guess I'm just transfixed,
and it's hard to move your mouth
when you're in awe.
Does that make sense, sunshine?
You
hold me down
on the couch
when it's New Year's.
Your touches and hugs
like pure fantasy.
I guess this
is pure fantasy.
