I knock on the door, tapping a little rhythm with glee. The door swings open quickly, and I'm greeted by Laurel and her sunny aura,

'Hi lovely!'

'Hi, Laurel!'

I pull her into a hug and grabs both of my hands in hers,

'You have to tell me everything'

I play dumb,

'About what?'

She bats my arm playfully,

'I'm being serious, Nance. Shagging Paul is no laughing matter'

'How did you know-'

'I just do! Now tell me; was it good? Was his peni-'

'Laurel!'

'Sorry but I've gotta know'

I laugh, and pull her to sit next to me on my bed,

'Well..'

I tell her everything about last night, and I find myself really happy with what happened. Laurel tells me about last night with George, and how lovely he is. Apparently her evening with him was 'magical'. She smiles happily, then frowns slightly,

'He still hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend, though'

'Maybe he thinks you're already together, and he doesn't need to.'

'Maybe...'

'Next time you're with him pull the "so what are we?" card, then you'll know'

She laughs lightly. I hug her,

'He's a good guy, Laurel. Give him time and him and his 'perfect eyes' will be sure to ask you out'

She hugs me back,

'I'm so lucky to have a friend like you Nance'

Nothing much else happens for the rest of the night, I decide to prepare for my first proper day at uni tomorrow so I get all of my equipment prepared, and go over my old chemistry notes. I'm sitting on my bed, my hair in a messy bun and I'm in my pyjamas, I hear the faint sound of the radio from the other side of the room, faintly playing Chuck Berry. Laurel walks over to me after getting changed into her pyjamas after her shower,

'Oh I forgot to say, this came for you yesterday'

She hands me a letter, again with Lucy's handwriting on the front. I unwrap it quickly, eager for contact to my precious sister and mother.

Dearest Nancy,

It feels weird to be called Nancy instead of Nance. I've only been here for a couple of days and I'm already really settled in. I think to how panicked I was about coming and laugh at the silly memory.

I hope you're still doing well. Your friend Laurel sounds amazing! Make sure to tell her I said hi! We're doing chemistry in school at the moment-

The letter is very typical, telling me about her school work and friendship group and a hard chemistry question she needs my help with.

I thought I'd update you on Tammy and Thomas. They've been meeting up even more, if thats possible, even been meeting up just then two now. I haven't caught them doing anything they shouldn't be, neither have my friends. I've been telling them to watch out for the pair too.

The fact that Thomas and his new lady friend have been meeting up to go on what sounds like dates is surprisingly reassuring. I feel less bad for sleeping with two different men since being here for less than a week. Who even am I anymore?
