Today, we as Trinbagonians celebrate we independence. We celebrate we 52nd anniversary, or 52 years, of independence from the United Kingdom. Trinidad and Tobago gains its independence on August 31, 1962. All Trinbagonians celebrated: Africans, East Indians, Chinese, Arabs, Europeons, Amerindians (full blood & mixed), and we mixed group. We've became an indepedent nation on this day, no longer under British control. We were known as the Commonwealth of Trinidad and Tobago. Later on August 1, 1976, we became the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
So i wanna say HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO TRINIDAD & TOBAGO!!!
