For those who live in New York City, New York in general, or Tri-State area, know that yesterday was the Labour Day Parade, or fi we Caribbean dem, West Indian Day Parade. This parade is where all people from the Caribbean come together and celebrate our culture as Caribbean people. The parade is a Carnival style parade where people dress up in sequence clothes, feathers, and many exotic costumes based on themes for each band. There also be mini fetes, or parties, around the area and food being served. The food be from curry goat to roti. A lot of people are there to represent they country: Jamaica, Trinidad andTobago, Barbados, Greneda, St. Lucia, Haiti, Panama, Costa Rica, Guyana, Belize, and many others. The event start off with J'Ouvert (pronounced joovey) early in the mornig where people play music and douse (not sure if that's spelled right) each other with paint, oil, and powder. The West Indian Parade starts on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, Utica, Brooklyn and end at Grand Army Plaza. Now this year, like the other two years, I didn't go. I am experiencing Carnival tabanca (tabanca means heartbreak. Bunji Garlin made a song called Carnival Tabanca, allyuh should go litsen cuz dat chune wicked, like it real fiyah). But I'm sure like the other years I went, it will be a time to remember and I'm sure tout moun enjoyed deyselves. But mi know dis, mi gwan be deh next year, fuh true.

Suh mi waa gi a big shoutout fi whole mi Caribbean bredda an sista dem who be deh an fi dem who repped eena spirit. Mi nah waa figet mi Caribbean Wattpad reada dem who bez Caribbean demself. BIG UP YUHSELF!!!!
