Piper's POV

I wake up to my alarm blaring beside me and quickly grab my phone. After I turn off my alarm, I slide back into my bed. If I go back to sleep for five more minutes, I can still make it. You're going to be late. You'll end up waking up in an hour.

It wouldn't be too bad. I won't have to present. And abandon Sebastian? Don't be a dick. Listening to my kind thoughts, I start to get ready.

I'm one of the first few people to arrive in the classroom, and my anxiousness increases. Sebastian wouldn't bail, right?

"Glad you're here." Someone says behind me.

I glance behind me and notice I'm face-to-face with Sebastian. "I was worried you would be "sick" today." I tease.

"You were worried about me?" He asks with a cute pout.

"I hate you," I mutter, sitting in my seat.

"Nervous?" He asks softly.

I make eye contact with him and sigh. "I always get like this before presenting," I say, squeezing my hand into a fist. "But I know I can't overanalyze my script, or else I'll mess up in front of everyone."

He reaches for my hand, and slowly pries open my fist. My anxiousness disappears, and I can only focus on Sebastian holding my hand. My heart skips a beat, but it's definitely not because of the presentation. Holy shit. Are you into him?

"So I hear you need mwah to distract you until this class ends." He says with a grin. I mean, I wouldn't mind. Hey!

I roll my eyes and say, "You can't think holding my hand will calm me down."

"It worked, didn't it?" He asks, a slight blush appearing on his cheeks.

"Now I really hate you," I say, looking anywhere but at him.

"Piper, I'll be right by your side. We practiced for this." He says while the pad of his thumb rubs soothing circles.
