Jasper and I packed very little for our trip, not needing much. Both of us could get what we needed and hunt. Once we landed in Africa Jasper rented a car and drove us out to the plains as I hung out the window looking at all the animals that went by. It was so warm here compared to Forks. The sun was shining and the sand was dry. The air was dry. After hours of driving, we came upon a small village.

"We stop here for the night," Jasper said parking the car. "Tomorrow we set out into the forest after getting  supplies." He led me to a small hut and went inside. I followed after him and found a small meal of rice and beans had been set out. It wasn't much, but I wrapped it in a lettuce leaf and ate what the people of the village had given us.

Food here was scarce, turning it down would be rude, letting it go to waste an insult. I drank the warm goat's milk they also provided. It was a good meal, it filled me. I curled up on the goat skins they had left for me to sleep on as Jasper washed the dishes in the stream. I quickly fell asleep, exhausted from the flight.

The next morning I woke to see Jasper getting some of the bags ready with an orange, grapes, and water sitting where dinner had been last night. "Morning husband," I said stretching.

"Morning love," he replied. "I got the supplies we need, we can leave the car here. We'll just come back for it." I nodded, not completely awake yet. I went over to my breakfast and ate it. When we were ready we headed into the jungle, leaving the safety of the village behind. We easily made our way through the thick vegetation. It was green here, just like Forks, but there were patches of desert.

I liked the warmth, the sun felt incredible. The animals around us were incredible. There were so many of them. Primates, bugs, birds, big cats, zebra, antelope, gazelle, water buffalo, rhino, hippo, snakes, hyenas, the spotted dog, elephant, crocodile, giraffe, and wilder beast.

We spent days exploring and watching the animals. We also made love to each other, I knew it was possible for me to get pregnant, I just didn't know if I had to wait for a certain time like humans or if like cats I would release an egg every time I had sex. I suppose it didn't matter at the moment, if I got pregnant I got pregnant. I was having fun, that's what mattered.

I was currently laying in some leaves with Jasper, our clothes discarded. We had been in Africa for six weeks now and I loved it here. The food that grew in the jungle was good, the heat was wonderful, just being able to see the sun was wonderful. Suddenly something kicked me in the stomach. Jasper looked up at me, "was that?"

"I think so," I replied placing my hand over my stomach. I was smiling, I was pregnant. I was going to be a mum. So within the next few days, we headed home and everyone greeted us, Alice already knew of course. I was congratulated.

During my pregnancy, I was well tended to, even by Leah who never seemed to want to leave my side. After 12 weeks of drinking blood, being swollen, and crabby I gave birth to a baby boy.

He had light blue eyes, dark blonde hair, and pale skin. He was beautiful. Leah imprinted on him instantly. Gideon Newton Hale. I couldn't wait for our adventures to continue.
