Three weeks later.

I was starting to see what Dave was talking about. Either that, or having that thought in my head made it seem some type of way.

But all of a sudden I've been seeing Malcom pop up places where we frequent, and until recently, haven't seen him otherwise.

I get that he was new in town, but I'm sure I or whoever I was with would've noticed him before- unless he suddenly moved like yesterday.

And it was even more strange that he only came up to me when I wasn't with Dave, and didn't bother to mention his name at all.

Dave told me to let him know each and every time it happened. He said he had his men tracking him and trying to see what was up.

I figured he was nothing but a smitten fool, but it was something about the way he said my name. It seemed strained, like he practiced saying it as if it was hard to pronounce or remember.

I'd been staying closer to home lately. Just because I didn't have to be out, for one. And also because I didn't feel like dealing with this at the moment.

I finally got the office! Dave pulled some strings and we were able to expedite the paperwork and everything. And in just two weeks, I was having a grand opening party.

Networking has definitely paid off but now having a physical address should really set me up.

I've mostly been preparing for the event at home, with the help of Jayde and Dave.

Malcom has tried to take me out to dinner "to celebrate" but I politely declined and decided to just invite him and a few company representatives to the grand opening.

I didn't necessarily want to, but I had to thank everyone who helped me get the place somehow.

As I was sending out the last of the invitations via E-Vites, the doorbell rang.

"Who is it?" I sang over the intercom.

"Girl, stop playing. These bags are heavy." Jayde whined.

Laughing, I buzzed her up and went to open the door to wait for her.

We were finalizing the plans for my event from now so everything would be set in stone ahead of time. We could then be flexible from there, if need be.

"We have catering being done by Key, getting the cake and dessert tables done by Baked by Bri, we have the DJ coming for an interview next week and of course you're handling the decor. Anything else?" Jayde recited.

"No ma'am. You might as well take my damn job, you've always had planning down pact." I said.

"Oh no. I couldn't do half of what you do. Well I could, but not the creative stuff necessarily. If you want to hire an assistant, I'm more than happy to help you find one. And then work alongside them for you." She said.

I thought about this for a second. I've always done the planning and things for myself. Which sometimes became difficult when I also had to design and create all of the props and decor.

"Well I'd rather have you be my direct assistant of course. But we'd both need help eventually." I pondered. "I think you should start alone for now, if that's alright with you."

"Absolutely. Anything for my girl. And anything to quit my job." She cheesed.

We laughed then got back to business before getting hungry.

Jayde ended up forcing Loc to bring us food and he dragged Dave along with him.

We all spent the rest of the day chillin until they got a call from "work". I still meant to have a deep discussion with him about that.

I don't care about what he does as long as he's safe. But I'd like to understand more and let him know that I'm down for him no matter what.
