I was still reeling from tonight.

It was more of a shock than anything, really. In my own space, I had felt so unsafe.

Even for just a moment.

Disappointed in myself for not seeing the clues. I had spent a lot of time just erasing the event from my mind, it didn't occur to me that he could come back whenever he so chose.

And that he did.

At least he was gone. I'm sure Dave would never let him walk the same earth and us anymore.

"Willow, baby girl. I'm so sorry. I should've handled things better. So he wouldn't come back." My dad seethed. He was so angry before just breaking down.

Everyone had come back to my place after the event

Everyone had come back to my place after the event. Of course we had to have a family meeting about everything that had gone down.

I didn't want any pity, just time. Deep down I was happy that he was found and caught.

Scary thoughts just clouded my mind for the time being.

"Daddy, it's okay, really. You did all you could. Nothing could've been done otherwise, he was deranged." I spoke, snuggling up to him.

"Dave is a good man. He protected you when I couldn't." He said.

I shook my head. "You didn't know. That's not something to beat yourself up for. I'm okay. He's gone. Everything is okay now."

Not too long after, the doorbell buzzed.

"It's Dave and them." Jayde said, standing up and wiping the tears from her face.

As soon as he appeared at the door, I got up and ran to him.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm sorry." I cried.

He pushed me off of him but held me in place so that I was right in front of him.

"Look and listen, and do it good. You will never have to thank me for protecting you or doing whatever I have to make sure you're straight. Never. And don't apologize for shit. That bitch made ass little boy was all types of fucked up in the head. He went through so much just to make sure he went unnoticed. That has nothing to do with you or anyone else for that matter." He said then looked up at my family, and back to me. "He's taken care of and now that's all that matters."

I fought off his restraint and wrapped my arms back around him.

Soon, I felt one of his arms leave by body and someone else coming in for a hug.

I turned my head to see my father dapping him up.

"The Lord done did right when he let you come into our lives, son." He said getting choked up again.

I just cried some more, pushing my face into Dave's chest.

Something so horrible had to bring our family together. I was still grateful that my parents accepted Dave before truly getting to know him.

We'll all have to spend more time together and communicate more. There's nothing like people who truly and unconditionally care for each other.

"There's just one more thing we have to discuss." Dave said lowly.

"We couldn't get too much information on him just yet, but we do know he's one of us. So this isn't something we can take lightly. And must move to action sooner than later." Loc spoke up.

Oh God. I really can't take more of this. More of Carter... Malcom... whoever. Please don't tell me...

"Carter's dead. He's gone baby." Dave said putting a finger under my chin so that I looked straight into his eyes.

"So- so, what are you trying to say?" I asked, just even more confused and terrified for what's to come.

"He has a brother. Who is of the same race. As us, I mean." Loc tried to explain but was cautious of who all was in the room. "As soon as he gets the word, there's no say what he'll want to do."

"I think it's just best we explain everything. The only people who don't know, that are present, are Willow's parents. They need to be filled in for this to make sense." Jayde said.

"You're right. Everyone has to be on the same page at some point." I agreed.

"What in the hell is going on?" My mom whined.

"Mom, dad. Dave and all the men you see here are-" I started to say but just couldn't bring myself to say the words.

"Ma'am. We are vampires. Blood-sucking, pale ass vampires. Blah blah blah." Chris blurted out. "Now this is some deep shit we could be in. And we can't just skate around things right now."

"Excuse me? My daughter is caught up with monsters? I can't do this. Nope. Willow, let's go." My mom said, trying to yank me away from Dave.

"Mom, no! What are you doing?!" I exclaimed.

"I will not watch another person I love be ripped away by the likes of you!" She screamed, now my father was trying to hold her down.

To be continued 🙃

First off, I'd really like to thank everyone for the support. 4K reads (I wrote this part when it was still 2k, y'all) might not seem like a lot when Wattpad is full of great writers and amazing books... but it means the world to me.

This is something I never imagined would happen, but nonetheless I kept writing and making goals for myself. And hopefully you guys are enjoying my work.

If only my YouTube would take off like my books 😩😩🙃

Y'all thank you so much, for real 💕
