The Avengers is the Marvel Studios film and the sixth installment in the MCU as it is directed and written by Joss Whedon and released in 2012. This film took 5 other films to make as it leads to this and it was done so amazingly. This film was a huge moment for comic fans as we got to see an epic team up with all these characters on screen together for the first time.
The film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk replacing Edward Norton, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye as the six Avengers who were all perfect in their roles. Each one of them had that great team chemistry together and had their moments to shine. The film also stars Tom Hiddleston as the antagonist Loki who becomes the best MCU villain after this, Clark Gregg as Coulson, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury who all was perfect in the film and worked well with the main cast.
The film is about Loki coming to earth to take it over so Nick Fury forms a team with remarkable people to stop Loki. Years in the making and it leads to this to end Phase One which is done perfectly as this film had great action scenes, tension, and team building as these heroes don't know each other but form this family. The film also includes great humor, quips, and character banters from the cast. It had lots of classic moments and plenty of great sequences, especially in the final battle. Even when it's just the characters interacting it was still great to watch. The film also has an amazing score as the Avengers theme is now as iconic as the Star Wars theme.
One thing I mixed is that it can start off slow, but it gets better as it goes along as it is still entertaining.
Overall this was a great film and an epic moment as we got to see the earth's mightiest heroes together. It was done so perfectly which lead to a big Avengers franchise and more within the MCU. This is my favorite Phase One film.
