Thor: The Dark World

Thor: The Dark World is the Marvel Studios film and is the eighth installment in the MCU as it is directed by Alan Taylor and released in 2013. This has been said to be the worst MCU film ever, but it's not. I actually enjoyed this more than the first Thor film. I don't think it is terrible, it is still fun to watch,

Chris Hemsworth returns as the God of Thunder Thor who is great as we see him being mighty once again. Tom Hiddleston returns as Loki who was great as it adds more to his character and his mischievous ways. Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård, and Kat Dennings return as their characters from the first film and expanding from that. Lady Sif and The Warriors Three returns too which were great to see more of them as they are interesting characters who have the potential to be great characters, especially Lady Sif. Christopher Eccleston also plays the villain Malekith who was sadly underused in the film.

The film is about the Dark Elves wanting the Aether to conquer the Nine Realms so Thor must team up with Loki to stop them. I liked how it took place more in Asgard as we got to explore more of it and its history. I liked how there was more action in the film too which was done pretty well. I felt the film had more fun moments too and just wasn't bland like the first one. I also liked how the Nine Realms was one of the main focuses of the film too.

However, it still has plenty of flaws. The antagonist was underuse which made him a bit uninteresting. I felt they could have done more with the Dark Elves too. I wish there was more to the Warriors Three. It also needed more of a Shakespearean feel like the first film too as it seemed like it did.

Overall, with its flaws, it isn't the worst MCU film. Like I said I prefer this over the first Thor. It is still at the bottom of the list. But we got more of Thor and Loki in this film which made the film fun.
