new beginnings

SANIYAH

i hop out of the shower drying myself off as i head into my bedroom.

i picked out something simple, a black sweatshirt and some tights.

i slipped on my uggs heading back to the bathroom to put my hair in a bun.

"done." i sighed grabbing my purse and heading out the door.

i pull up to walmart hoping out and locking my doors.

i only came here to do a little shopping for the house.

it's just me now so i don't need much.

i'm greeted by some workers as i walk straight to the cereal .

i pick up a couple flavors putting them in the cart as i head over to the candy aisle.

i bit my lip knowing damn well i shouldn't be down here. i'm on a "diet"

i look around shrugging as i put reese's cups , hershey kisses and more in my cart.

suddenly i hear i little voice beside me.

"daddy i want this candy!" the little girl giggles as i down at her.

she notices me smiling as i freeze my heart melting.

her smile is so beautiful...so beautiful.

it's like i've seen her before

she had on some gray tights, tan uggs and a cream sweater, some bracelets hung from her tiny wrist. so adorable..

"you awr so pwetty!" she squeals as i crouch down infront of her.

"thank you baby..you are very beautiful as well." i smile caressing her cheek .

"amelia stop running off like that!" he male voice says sternly coming into the aisle as i look up.

our eyes lock as my mouth parts.

i say nothing as he comes closer.

i stand to my feet stumbling on my words

he clears his throat picking up the little girl as he stands there.

"saniyah...hi." he smiles as i return a nervous one.

"h-hi..." i say softly still trying to pull everything together.

"how are you?" he asked bouncing the toddler in his arms as she plays with his beard.

"i'm good...how are you?" i asks honestly.

our break up wasn't bad...we just needed to learn to love ourselves more before we could be in one.

we both had an understanding and ended up being great friends until he got into a relationship..

he became distant but i couldn't trip.

if he was happy i was ..even if it wasn't with me.
