"Well I can tell from that smile it went well." Indigo says as I take a seat at the bar and she puts a beer in front of me
"Yeah, she's perfect." I reply as I take a sip, reluctantly washing her taste from my lips.
"I smell a new old lady for the tribe." Indigo jokes, her attitude would certainly fit in with the fierce old ladies of the club. Each one of them is badass and fearless in their own way, the guys would never admit it but their women run this club, each one has added something to the club we'd be lost without.
"Hey Indigo, if I can fight Cordelia away from the clinic you up for going to the salon? That girl won't sit the fuck down." Scarlett says as she sits beside me
"What's got you smiling like a preteen at a Bieber concert?" Scarlett smirks before throwing back her whiskey
"Nothing, is Cordelia around? I need to ask her something." I reply, Cordelia is an amazing nurse, she's saved most of our asses
"She said she'd meet me here but when I left she was threatening the two prospects that she would castrate them if they carried on barricading the door to the clinic." Scarlett laughs.
"Motherfucking little bitches, if I wasn't pregnant they would be in body bags." Cordelia curses as she leans against the bar, no longer able to hop up onto a stool
"And here's the beautiful mother of three to be." Scar says as she strokes Cordelia's stomach
"All I wanted was a girl to go with my handsome boy and what do I get from Killers super sperm? Twin boys." Cordelia groans as Indigo hands her a bottle of water
"Cordelia, you got a minute, I could use your advice on something?" I ask as I stand
"Sure waddle with me to a booth, my feet are swollen as balls." She says as she moves over to a booth and sits down. Scarlett and Indigo join us, but that's fine, these girls can keep a secret like a vice
"Indigo knows, but I've been talking to a girl and I had lunch with her today, I really like her, but I found out something about her and I'm not sure how to handle it so I don't seem like an asshole." I say and they all light up with their meddling little smiles
"What's she like? Is she cute? We need more women running this place." Scarlett beams
"She's amazing and she'd piss the guys off just as much as you guys do. But the thing is, she's in a wheelchair, she tried to hide it from me, so when she told me I acted like I didn't care. I'm taking her out Friday night and I want to make sure I do it right so I don't make her feel awkward." I say as they all awww at me, damn women.
"First of all, how fucking cute are you? Second of all what kind of injury are we talking?" Cordelia asks, there's the nurse mode I need
"I don't know how it happened but she said she can't feel anything in her legs, I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable by asking questions." I reply
"Ok, so if she said legs and not waist down then that's a little easier. Make sure wherever you take her has ramps or easy access. A disabled bathroom would be a major plus, I doubt anyone wants to ask a guy on their first date to lift them onto a toilet." She laughs
"We can help, let me get my laptop, I'll start looking up restaurants." Indigo says as she goes behind the bar. See what I mean? No judgement, they won't tell the guys they think I'm cute and they are helping me, these women are great and I think Skye could add to that. Ok, maybe I am a little obsessed.
Friday night took forever to arrive and I'm seriously regretting asking the girls for help.
"I think he looks cute, I'd do him. Ok don't tell Bullet I said that." Indigo blushes and I laugh
"I like the black shirt, black on black and his muscles look hot in the sleeves." Scarlett says as she picks the shirt up off my bed, I'm sure if their men caught all three of them in my room I'd be dragged out into the lot and beaten.
"I agree with Scarlett, I like the black on black." Cordelia adds and I take off the white shirt and put on the black one.
"Happy now?" I ask as I slide on my leather cut
"Perfect." Scarlett smirks
"I sent Izzy to the restaurant to check and it is totally accessible for Skye, no obstacles, so you're good to go. Don't forget, don't go all caveman and just pick her up and put her in the car, unless she asks, let her move herself when she can. I'm guessing if she tried to hide it she wants to feel as normal as possible." Cordelia says and I just nod as I grab my keys, I had the prospects clean out my car, something that hasn't been done since I bought it, because I never use it.
"Ok, I'm going, thank you for the help ladies."
"Our pleasure and call us if you're stuck." Indigo says as I head downstairs and into the bar, where I find Killer, Bullet and Knuckles clearly looking for their women
"Hey babe." Indigo says as she slips passed me to Bullet, Cordelia and Scarlett behind her
"Where are you all coming from?" Killer questions looking between me and the girls
"I had a lady thing I wanted to show Cordelia and Indigo tagged along, I nearly ran into poor Circuit fleeing from Pregnant Nurse mode over there." Scarlett says and I see all three men cringe, as I said these girls are good
"See you at the club later?" Scarlett asks as I head for the door
"Maybe." I smile as quickly jump in my car to make the drive to Skye's house. I pull up out front of the single storey house with flowers scattered around the garden and blue fairy lights strung along the front porch.
"And kindly Mother, go suck a dick." I hear Skye shout as the door opens before I have chance to knock
"Circuit." Skye smiles as she wheels out of the door
"Hi" I say as her eyes hit me again, it's as if I'm seeing her for the first time all over again
"Do me a favor, slam that door, I can't get the right swing on it to slam the way I like." Skye says and I look at her confused. I look up to see her mom in the hall her face laced with anger
"Nice to see you again Mrs Matthews." I say as I wave to her mom
"Just slam the fucking door dude." Skye says as she wheels passed me down the ramp and towards my car. I shut the door and follow behind her before opening up the passenger door
"Thank you." She says as she lifts herself across into the car, I grab her wheelchair and load it into the back, after she explains how to fold the damn thing and I feel like I'm fucking up already
"I don't know where we're going but I made a playlist for the ride, I figure I use this time to fix your appreciation for my playlists." Skye smirks as she connects her phone to my car and I laugh
"I like the songs, just not the order." I reply
"Are you ok? You seemed mad when I got to your door" I ask as Jimi Hendrix begins to play
"Yeah fine, just had an argument with my mom, but that means I got ready all by myself so I hope you appreciate my effort." She says as she plays with the fabric on the red lace skater dress she's wearing
"Oh I can definitely appreciate" I say as I wiggle my eyebrows and she laughs.
"You know what, I had a restaurant planned but I think I have a better idea." I say as I change direction
"Oh damn, serial killer in the woods, well can I ask you cut my legs off first? I'm not using them anyway" she smirks as I pull in the drive thru of a burger joint. We order a pile of food and then I head to a gas station and grab beer, candy and any kind of crap I think she'll like before running back to the car and heading off into the woods
"Well at least you made a good choice for my last meal, you know I was kidding about you taking me into the woods right?" She says and I laugh
"Trust Me, you'll like this." I say as I turn up into the hills.
