Chapter 18 - Skye

I wake up and fuck my brain is pounding in my skull.

"Skye?" I look to my left and see Circuit sitting beside me

"Circuit? What happened?" I question as I try to sit up

"Woah take it easy you hit your head pretty hard." He says as he wraps his arms around me sitting beside me on the bed as I lean into him

"You got shot in the shoulder and hit your head on the sidewalk pretty hard." He says before kissing me softly

"I'm so sorry I wasn't there to protect you." He adds as he strokes my cheek with his thumb.

"Circuit it's not your fault, do you know who it was that shot at us?" I ask, although I think I know who it was already.

"It was the same guys that were talking to you at the club." He replies

"Yeah, I didn't want to drag you into my mess but Danny's brothers threatened me that night and I've seen them a few times since then." I say looking down

"I won't let them hurt you again Skye, I promise." He says as he lifts my chin until our eyes meet

"I'm sorry for dragging you into this, the last thing I want to be is a burden." I say as I place my hand on his hand on my cheek

"Skye, I'm in love with you and I want to take care of you." He says

"You love me?" I question a smile growing on my lips as he nods

"I had a whole thing planned for tonight to tell you, but I do, I love you." He says as he brushes a few strands of hair behind my ear

"I love you." I reply before he kisses me once more.

"Oh man, my Mom is going to full on freak out, I need to call her, where's my chair? Maybe I can just tell her I fell or something." I ramble as I look around the room for my chair

"Relax, your chair is in Izzy's car and don't worry about your mom, text her and tell her you're staying with me tonight and we'll take it from there." He says stroking my arm to help me calm down

"A sleep over huh? Does that mean I get to molest you some more?" I say as I wiggle my eyebrows

"No way, you just got hurt you need to rest." He smirks

"Oh damn, I thought you were a slut?" I fake disappointment and he laughs

"I may be a slut, for you, but for tonight you can call me nurse Circuit and I will take good care of you." He says as he stands and places his hand on his heart making me laugh

"Does nurse Circuit come with a sexy nurses outfit?" I ask and he laughs

"Maybe." He winks as he picks me up and carries me to his room.

"Dude, pretty sure I've already seen you naked." Circuit smirks as he hovers above me

"I know but this is different, I hate it already." I reply pulling the towel closer to my body

"Skye, I love you, shut the fuck up and let me help." He laughs as he picks me up and carries me through to the bathroom. He sets me down on the side of the tub and turns on the faucet.

"I wish they had shot me in the fucking leg, they're useless anyway and I wouldn't of felt it." I groan as I rub my left shoulder. This damn wound is killing me and I can't push my wheelchair or support my weight while I move around, which is driving me fucking nuts.

"You're just hiding your sexy body from me as punishment because I didn't put out last night." Circuit pouts as he turns off the hot water now the tub is full. I sigh as I drop my towel and reveal my body to him. He helps me get settled in the hot water before leaving the bathroom.

"What are you doing?" I laugh as Circuit sinks into the tub behind me and pulls me onto his lap

"Well you may be pissed you need help but all I see is a hot naked girl in my bathtub, how am I not going to join in on that?" He says as he wraps his arms around me and I lean back against his chest, resting my head on his shoulder.

After reluctantly getting out of the steamiest bath I've had in my life, and no I'm not referring to the water temperature, Circuit helped me get dressed before driving me to my Moms for clothes. Circuit wants me to stay with him for a few days and I can't say I don't like the idea of spending every night in his bed.

"What happened?" My Mom shouts as she opens the front door, looking to me as Circuit pushes my chair up the path

"Wow that was fast" Circuit says so only I can hear

"Yeah." I reply rolling my eyes

"What did you do to my daughter?" My Mom cries as she meets us in the front yard and starts looking for injuries

"Wow." Is all Circuit says and if I wasn't mad at my mom right now I'd probably laugh

"Why is Circuit pushing your chair? What have you done?" My Mom pleads, as though I'm bleeding out on her damn lawn.

"Mom chill the fuck out huh? I'm fine, Circuit didn't do anything, I fell over and hurt my shoulder is all, I'll be fine." I reply, there's no way I'm telling her I got shot, she would hold me prisoner in the house if she found out.

"You fell? If you were home this wouldn't have happened." She frowns and I'm sure my eyes will fall out my head if I roll them any harder. We head inside and Circuit wheels me into his room

"I'm going to stay with Circuit for a couple of days, I just want some clothes and my laptop." I say as my mom stands in the doorway

"After you get hurt? No way, you need to stay here so I can look after you." My Mom insists and I groan

"I love you mom I do, but fuck. Circuit give us a minute?" I ask and he nods, leans down and kisses my forehead before heading out

"Mom, I will never be able to make up to you what I put you through, I get that and I love you for leaving dad for me, for dropping your life to take care of me. But please, I'm safe, I'm happy and I'm living. You need to start living too, sitting here praying I don't get hurt again is no life. Do something fun for fucks sake! Go out and find a new man to play with, anything, jeez." Tears have formed in my Moms eyes but she laughs

"You know it's all because I love you?" She says as she wraps her arms around me, minding my shoulder and I nod as I lean into her. She helps me pack some clothes and I grab my laptop before she pushes me out into the hall

"Everything ok?" Circuit asks as he takes my bag from my mom

"Everything is fine." My Mom says looking to me

"You take care of my girl and I'll see you in a few days, I'll make dinner for us?" She asks

"That would be great Mrs Matthews." Circuit smiles

"Oh call me Cat." My Mom says and my mouth hangs open, Circuit is fucking honoured to be on a first name basis with my mom.

"Of course, Cat and I'll take good care of her." He says as we head out to his car.
