A/N: Hey! So there is only the epilogue after this and I'm so sad it's ending, I think this was my favourite book of the whole series to write 🙊 I know I said I was going to go BFG next, then I changed my mind and said Doc but I am having serious writers block. So I'm afraid I don't know what's next, I'm just going to step back and then when I get it I'll write it! Thank you for your lovely comments and votes. My daughter is 9 weeks old already and I'm sure it's her smiles and giggles distracting me from writing! I'll post the epilogue tomorrow. Much love xxx
It's been a week since I got Skye back and she's getting better every day, the nausea has started to kick in and as much as I hate to see her sick, I'm hoping it's a good sign.
"You ready?" I ask as I lift Skye up off the bed
"Ready." She says nervously. I head down the corridor and through the bar to the infirmary
"Hey guys." Cordelia says as she points to a bed and I lay Skye down. Cordelia lifts Skye's shirt up and I clench my fist at the bruising, still a dark purple, covering most of her stomach
"Ok, let's take a look." Cordelia says as she begins the ultrasound. She's silent as she studies the screen and I don't know if my nerves can take much more
"What do you see?" I ask when I can't take anymore
"I see a heart beat." Cordelia smiles as she turns the screen to show us
"See that? That is your babies heartbeat." She points to the screen and my face lights up in a huge ass smile
"Why are you crying?" I say as I turn to Skye and wipe a tear from her cheek
"Our baby is ok, it's happy tears." She says as she wraps her hand around my arm
"Well I'll monitor you for now, but once the bruising goes down I can hook you up with the best doctor in the county." Cordelia says as she wipes the jelly shit off Skye's stomach.
"Got a minute?" Killer says as he enters the room
"Go, I need to check her stitches anyway so it'll be a few minutes." Cordelia assures me and Skye nods before I follow Killer to the bar
"How's your girl doing?" He asks as Indigo serves us both a beer
"Getting better, still black and blue, but she's getting there." I reply
"She tell you what happened in the warehouse before we got there?" He questions
"No, we haven't talked about it, kinda got other stuff on our mind."
"Yeah, congratulations man you're gonna be a dad." He says as he pats my shoulder
"You mind if I bring her in on church this afternoon? I need to find out what went down, see if we got any comeback from the cop or her dad."
"I'll talk to her, if she doesn't want to talk in front of the guys I'll ask her to talk to you, or tell me and I'll bring it to the table myself." I say as I finish my beer and Killer nods as I stand and head back to the infirmary.
"You sure you wanna do this? You don't have to." I say as I push Skye in her chair towards church
"I'll be fine, now I know the baby is ok Dom and Damien are gone and I can move forward." She says as I lean down and kiss her cheek before wheeling her up to the table and sitting down beside her. The rest of the club take their seats
"Listen up, Skye is gonna give us her side of what went down in the warehouse last week, make sure we got no come back and then we're good." Killer says looking around the room as all eyes fall on Skye
"Go ahead Skye." Killer says and she nods
"It was Dominic and Damien and two others holding me at the warehouse. I don't know who the other two were I've never seen them before. Umm, Dom did most of the hitting, Damien stabbed me in the leg. The other two didn't do anything, apart from one of them tying me up when they first took me there." She stops for a minute and I take her hand in mine, to make sure she's knows I'm at her side.
"They brought out my dad and then the cop, Gary, although he's not a cop anymore he 'retired' after he rammed his squad car into me and Danny. They told me they wanted me to watch them kill my dad and Gary before they killed me. I told them to let me kill Gary." I look around and see a few smirks, she's definitely going to fit in with the old ladies if that's how she plays
"Dominic was high enough he believed me so he untied me and gave me his gun. I aimed the gun at Gary but turned it at the last second and killed Dominic. Damien lost his shit and stabbed me in the stomach, then you showed up." She says as she turns to me
"She's definitely a Broken Demons old lady." Knuckles smirks and a few of the guys laugh
"Alright, quiet down, we need to make sure Gary and Skye's dad don't go talking to the law about what went down in the warehouse." Killer says
"They won't. Gary was unconscious the whole time." Skye assures Killer
"What about your dad?" He asks
"If my dad threatens to tell the police that I killed Dom and you guys killed the other three it's simple just go for his reputation. If you threaten to turn up at his office wearing your cuts telling his colleagues about how his daughter is an old lady and how friendly he is with a biker club it'll kill him. That will keep the asshole quiet." Skye smirks and everyone laughs
"Ok, we'll pay him a visit at the hospital." Killer smirks before closing church.
"What are you doing?" She giggles as I tie a blindfold around her head.
"I have a surprise for you." I say as I push her out of the clubhouse
"Hey Skye."
"Mom? Ok what is going on?" She laughs as I keep pushing her and don't answer
"Ta da!" I shout as I pull off the blindfold
"What am I looking at?" She says as she looks around confused
"This is the foundations for our new house." I say and both her and her mom turn to me shocked
"Our house?" Skye asks
"Yep, I talked it through with Killer, three bedrooms, all on one level, room for us, the baby and for your mom to stay over when you want. Plus a direct path right to the clubhouse so you can go hang out with the girls whenever you want. It'll be finished before the baby comes so you can furnish it how you want." I say as she pulls me down to her and kisses me
"I'm so happy for you two." Cat smiles
"Oh my god you know what this means?" Skye says and I know that look
"Shopping with the girls!" She exclaims with a smug grin on her face.
"I love you, but please don't make me go." I pout as I kiss her again
"I love you, but you are going." She smiles.
