"You're home." My mom says pulling me in for a hug as Circuit stands in the doorway
"You not joining us Circuit?" My mom asks as she stands back up
"No I thought you could do with some mother daughter time. I will pick you up tomorrow afternoon though." He says as he leans down and kisses me before leaving. I watch as his car pulls away and notice the black truck with Jack the prospect in it parked across from my house. Circuit insisted just in case Danny's brothers haven't seen sense and stayed away.
"I miss you you know, I feel like I hardly see you now." She says as I wheel into the kitchen behind her
"It's a good thing though, I'm happy, how have you been?" I ask
"Well actually, there was something I wanted to talk to you about." She says as she pours me a glass of lemonade.
"I want to talk to you too, but you go first." I reply
"Well, now you're always with Circuit I feel like you don't need me anymore, so I've seen a part time job as a receptionist. I wanted to check in with you first, but I don't want to be sitting around the house by myself, would you be ok with me getting a job?" She asks and I smile
"Well actually, Circuit and I have been talking about the future and I decided I want to start taking some classes on campus at the college instead of hiding behind my computer." I reply and she smiles
"Oh that is fantastic, maybe I could work around taking you there and picking you up?" She says
"Well actually, Circuit moved into a bigger room downstairs at the clubhouse and wants me to move in with him there and I want to." I say nervously
"But you could come visit anytime and I would still come here to see you and we can text and talk on the phone every day. I'm not running away, I still want you in my life mom, I just want to be with Circuit because I love him and he loves me." I plead, hoping she doesn't think history is repeating itself.
"You're going to live in a clubhouse with Bikers?" She questions and I see the doubt on her face
"I want you to come and meet them. The girls that live there are awesome, we've gone shopping together and to the salon that one of them owns. Everyone is so nice mom, just before you freak out about bikers come and meet them." I beg and I can see she's hesitant.
"Well I'm not sure, but Circuit seems to be good for you so I'll come and meet them and you can show me your room. But you will always have your room here and you can come back anytime. If you ever need me to come get you I would only be a phone call away." She says, I can tell she's not totally happy, but she's trying and that's all I can ask for.
"So, if you're moving in with Circuit does that mean this afternoon I could help you go through your stuff and pack? And the house has been too quiet without your music so you could play some for me." My mom says as I light up
"That would be great!" I say as we head for my room.
Circuit: Your mom forbid you to see me yet? Cos I think I can make a forbidden love work. I could sneak into your room, ravish you and be out by sunrise.
Skye: No, she's not 100% but she's currently helping me pack some stuff to move into our room
Circuit: I'm shocked. But don't be packing them evil queen pyjamas I expect you naked in our bed every night!
I laugh as I put my phone down and continue going through my stuff. Explaining the whole old lady thing to my mom didn't exactly go as well as the college conversation. I didn't think she would get it but I showed her my property cut and once I explained what the other old ladies said about the whole property thing she actually laughed.
"Can you imagine what your dad would say about Circuit?" Mom laughs as she serves up a heaping bowl of pasta
"Eugh, who cares what that asshole thinks." I reply as I inhale the smell of my moms cooking, her food is awesome.
"I'm sorry you don't have a relationship with your dad." She sighs as she sits at the table
"That's not your doing, it's all on him. He called the cops saying Danny kidnapped me which led to the accident that killed him. And what kind of father when told his daughters paralysis is permanent says 'at least she can't run away now'? I don't think it would've mattered if I was dating a bad boy or a nice quiet guy from school dad still would've meddled. We're both better off without him mom." I say as we begin to eat.
"Well, seen as its kind of our last night together how bout we watch a movie before bed?" My Mom asks trying to lighten the mood.
After watching a movie and destroying enough popcorn to feed the whole club we finally headed to bed
Circuit: This bed isn't the same without you
Skye:I'll be in your arms tomorrow night. Goodnight Circuit, I love you xx
Circuit: Love you too beautiful xx
I smile as I put my phone on the nightstand and relax back in bed. My mom and I have been through a lot together and I'll miss living with her, but I'm excited for a future with Circuit, I feel like I can live an almost normal life by his side, something I never thought I would have after the accident.
I wake up to the sound of glass breaking and sit up in bed
"Mom? You alright?" I shout as I throw back the sheets and move into my wheelchair
"Hello Skye, miss us?" Dominic smirks as he opens my bedroom door
"You fuckers, what the hell do you want from me?" I shout as I wheel around my bed
"We just want you to pay for killing our brother." He says casually as he stalks towards me
"What's going on?" I look behind Dominic and see Damien hovering above my mother as she lies on the floor in the hallway, I scream as Damien punches my mom
"Wait stop! This has nothing to do with her. I killed your brother, punish me." I shout and Damien let's go of my mothers hair, charging towards me
"Come on then whore, we're going to have some fun with you." Dominic snarls as he tips my chair forward and I fall into the floor with a thud. He then grabs one of my legs and begins dragging me towards the front door
"Mom, call Circuit and get Jack out of the truck outside and don't call the fucking cops." I shout as Dominic continues to drag me towards the front door. I hope she doesn't call the police they only make everything worse
"Skye!" I hear my mom scream as I feel grass under my back. Dominic laughs as he let's go of my leg and lifts me into the back of a van and slams the door, the engine starts and I fight to stay still as the quick turns of the van throw me around.
