Daejung POV:

My name is Geum Daejung.

Twenty-three years old.

And the number one rival of Cheska Dee.

Mag-isa akong nakatayo ngayon sa tabi ng mga bookshelves sa loob ng library habang naghahanap ng mga aklat na kailangan kong basahin para sa susunod na exam.

Come to think of it, I can still clearly remember the first day she came into our class with that same blank face that she's wearing until now.

Masaya kaming naglalaro ng mga kaklase ko noong umagang iyon nang biglang bumukas ang pintuan ng classroom at pumasok ang teacher namin kasama ang batang yun.

Mabilis naman kaming napaayos lahat ng upo mula sa kinauupuan namin.

"Class, lets all greet your new classmate, Cheska Dee"

And without saying anything, her blank face just looked at all of us.

Its unusual.

Nasanay lang siguro kami na sa tuwing may darating na bagong bata sa school namin ay ngumingiti sila bago magpapakilala. But its not the case with this new girl.

She just scanned the whole room with her stupid blank eyes.

Psh, what a brat.

What's with this girl? How can she not smile even just once?

At pakiramdam ko ay natigilan kaming lahat nang dahil sa sumunod na sinabi nya.

"I need to become the best"

That was the first time that I met her.

And those words are my first memory of her.

Hindi lang ako makapaniwala na yun ang unang lalabas sa bibig nya sa unang pagdating nya sa school namin.

Napatitig nalang ako sa mga mata nya.

And all I can see is pure determination.

I can't help but to feel awe.

This is the very first time that I've seen such an emotion like that.

But why I can sense sadness from her eyes?

Years passed.

Elementary.

High school.

And now college.

But even if how many years had already gone by, I haven't seen her smile even just once.
