The only sound that can be heard through the quiet and dark forest is hooves meeting the dirty and stony ground. Link have always enjoyed silence, it just gives him peace. He looks around him, holding the lantern high in a firm grip. He moves around on the saddle and the yellow and warm light from the lantern lands on Zelda's face. Her eyes are even bluer than before and her golden hair falls perfectly over her shoulders, it makes Link smile by just looking at her. Zelda glances over at Link, taking her focus off the road before them and she smiles back at Link, giving out a small giggle. "I really like the forest at night, but I can't deny that I don't worry about what might be in the shadows" Zelda admits as she throws a quick glance at the dark forest that surrounds the two Hylians. "Don't worry Zelda, I'll protect you from whatever might be out there.." Link says softly. Zelda's ears perks at the sound of Link's voice and she smiles at him once again, warmly, embracingly. Link slowly leans closer to Zelda, who as well leans closer to him. Their lips were almost touching. Almost.

Suddenly a pained screams rings out, echoing through the woods. Both Hylians sits straight up in the saddles again, Link  pushed his heels into the sides of Epona, making the shire hurry up in a trot. Zelda, clearly concerned, lets her white stallion Storm follow Link's lead. Link stops his horse just by the shore, the raging water swirling in a stream in front of him. He looks out in the water, trying to find anything out of the ordinary. "Hey! I see something over there" Zelda calls out as she points out in the water. Link follows where she's pointing, now he as well sees something red getting dragged along in the water. He looks closer, glimpsing some type of human-like proportions. "Is.. Is it a Hylian?" Link asks, having no idea what that might be. "No, no Hyrulian have skin as red as that" Zelda proclaims. Link keeps on investigating the body and Epona walks along the stream as it drags the creature with it.

Suddenly Link see something. Even if it's faint her can clearly see the creature's chest moving up and now, like it's breathing.  "I-... It's alive..!" Link calls out as he jumps off Epona, getting met by Zelda jumping down from Storm next to him. Link takes out his little magnet attached to his belt and points it towards the creature. Fortunately, the magnet locates some type of metal braces around the creature's limbs. He quickly lets the magnet attract the wet metal, making the body drag along with it. Link slowly approaches the body, walking until water was up to his knees. He reaches out in the black water, grunting slightly as he has to stretch out his arm with all his might to get a hold of the arm of the creature. Just when his hand closes around the creature's wrist Link takes notice of the scale-like feel to the skin. 'Definetly not a Hylian' he thinks to himself as he drags up the cold body on the stony ground beneath them. Link is panting slightly, the body being heavier than he expected as Zelda walks over to them both and turns the creature to lay on it's back.

Link immediately remembers the fish-like features, the head shaped like a fish itself, and it's fin hanging lifelessly behind it's head. "A-... A Zora!" Zelda calls out, the anger overpowering the shock in her voice. Link looks closer at the Zora, confusingly investigating the "horns" on it's forehead, shaped like a bent-backwards hammerhead shark. "He... Looks quite odd" Link points out but Zelda shrugs lightly at his comment. "They're all thieves anyways, they're the biggest reason that my people barely have any food left" She snarls, grabbing the long, silver sword out of her belt. She sits down on one knee, matching the blad of the sword to impale the Zora in the heart, causing an instant death. "Well I mean.. There's not eternal of them, so the least the better" She growls as she gathers power by raising the sword, prepared to stab down at any moment.

Link's not quite sure why he does it, but he lays his arms over the Zora's chest, protecting him. Zelda snaps out of her concentration as she looks at Link with a confused and irritated look burning in her sea-green eyes. "Link. He is the one destroying our kingdom." She hisses out between shut teeth. "But Zelda he-... He's hurt! We need to help him!" Link says pleadingly, noticing the blood oozing from the back of the Zora's head down on the rocks. "And so what? I don't care how he dies as long as he's dead I'm fine! Link these are the ones that have made life hard for us! The reason that so many Hyrulians have died of starvation is because these have stolen our food!" Zelda shouts out, her anger boiling her blood like a volcano. "The ones that have put is in this position is Ganon, not the Zoras!" Link snaps back, not even being sure why he says something like that. He knew that the Zoras have made it so much worse for them and yet he cares about this one? Zelda looks at Link emotionlessly, whispering "Get out of the way, Link. I need to do this.". Link still covers the Zora's chest, hissing out a "No! I'm Hyrule's hero and no matter the species I will save who I can!". It wasn't him speaking, not really. Link hadn't thought about anything in that matter until he just felt that it was right to say it.

Zelda slowly lowers her sword, her eyes getting a glimpse of regret and empathy but that quickly vanishes as she pushes the sword back down in her belt as she hops up on Storm. "B-but Zelda I- I need you here to-"Link begins. "Link.. You chose to help this useless creature. I won't help you in this one" Zelda says shortly and after that Storm gallops off with her. Link looks around, confused what to do until the dim light of the lantern now attached to Epona's saddle shines over a cave in the mountain not so far away. Link sighs in relief, grabbing the Zora by the arms and starts to pull him towards the cave. He's all alone now, he knows that for sure. But he've done it before, he can do it again.
