"Soo.. Do you know who we might be searching for..?" Link asks as he and the rest of the little group was travelling between the high mountains of northern Hyrule. "I don't know.. I haven't met any Rito that actually caught Champion Revali's liking when he was alive." Zelda admits, deep in thoughts already. "Is that such a shock though?" Sidon says jokefully and Link giggles quietly. Riju barks out laughing as she says "You're damn right, Sidon!". Sidon smiles as he walks up to Link riding a sturdy bay horse. "How does your leg feel?" He says, concerned. Link smiles and pats Sidon's shoulder "It's fine, now.." before he quickly adverts his gaze from the prince.
"Guys, look! I can see the fires of Rito's camp!" Riju calls out as she and her horse trots up in the lead. Zelda's ears perks as she, too, sees the smoke from distant flames. Link looks at the sun and sees to his horror how it's just about to dissapear beyond the horizon. "Zelda..." He murmurs and Zelda follows his gaze. "Oh dear hylia.. Hurry! We got no time to loose!" She exclaims as she sets off her horse in a gallop. Link and Riju quickly catches on and Sidon dives into a nearby river to keep up the pace. Link's ears perks as he hears something running behind them and as he turns around he's met with the horrendous sight of a small group of various monsters running towards them. "Run!" He shouts as he whips out his bow and arrows from his back and starts firing arrow after arrow at the monsters. Link, to his fright, misses almost every blow due to the rocky ground his horse was galloping on, constantly knocking the arrow off it's aim. The monsters started closing in, some nipping at his steed's tail and hindlegs.
Then suddenly, a mighty bird-shaped shadow flies over them. Arrows with all kinds of powers bombarded the monsters. Freezing, shocking and burning them all to death. Link whips his head around but before he gets to look up at their rescuer Zelda screams "Stop!!". Link's horse comes to a quick halt, along with both Riju's horse and Sidon who climbs out of the water. "We could've died.." Zelda says as she looks at the big gap between where they stood and the Rito's new camp. The gap was jaggedy, showing sign of bomb arrows being used to prevent any non-flying creature to trespass. The gap seemed fairly new, too. The small party hears a thud behind them and as they turn around they're met by the sight of a white rito with black markings. The braids on the side of his feathery head swayed in the light breeze and his piercing yellow eyes skimmed over the group one by one. He put the bow on his back and gave Zelda a small smile. "Ah, princess Zelda. What brings you here?" He asks.
As Zelda explains the occurences of the malace dissapearing from two of the divine beasts Link began to study the rito's face more. He have seen this rito before, haven't he? Link focuses hard, digging into his memories to try and remember as the world around him slowly fades out. He remembers. Teba, one of the main guards of Rito village and the only specie Zelda is still an ally with. Sidon glances over at him, tilting his head in confusion at Link's shocked expression. "Teba..." Link murmurs and the white rito looks over at him. "Ah, Link.. You look different than since I saw you last." Teba says, his expression remaining serious. "The beast that had stolen our divine beast dissapearing is concerning but... I cannot grasp what you need me for." Teba proclaims as he looks back at Zelda. "Well... The thing is that-... Along with the dissapearances of the two ganons along with the malace, both Riju and Sidon have gained the powers of the the two past champions Urbosa and Mipha." Zelda continues with asking "Do you know anyone who Revali would consider worthy of his power?".
Teba raises a brow, almost lookng surprised before he looks away again. "Ah.. I suspect it might be me. Revali visited me last night, I just assumed it was a silly dream." Teba confesses and Link sees how Zelda's eyes lights up. "Oh, wonderful!" She exclaims "Then you must join us back to Hyrule castle, I sent a troupe to locate the successor of Champion Daruk so they should probably have returned with him by now.". Teba gave Zelda a soft smile "It would be a pleasure. I'll follow you from the sky, you go ahead." He says and Zelda gives him a nod before setting her horse off in a walk, with Riju exctedly following her. Link glances over at Sidon, only to be met by Sidon taking a glance right back at him at the same moment. Link could feel his cheeks burn as he quickly turned his horse around and trotted off to catch up to the two girls.
He hears Sidon run after him and soon they end up side to side again. "Hey.." Sidon said, looking at Link with a soft smile on his face. Link looks over at him, his cheeks remaining red. "H-... Hey-.." He says, giving Sidon a shaky smile. "A-... Uh-... About yesterday.." Sidon stuttered out, his eyes darting around anxiously. Link thought back at the night before. The cottage, the warm fire, the... The kiss. Link swallowed and opened his mouth to reply, only to be interrupted by Zelda calling for him some meters ahead. "Link, hurry! We cannot keep the goron pricne waiting!" She shouted, earning a nod from Link as he trotted up to her, leaving Sidon behind.
His head was spinning. He wasn't ready to think all this through.
Not yet.
