Boss

Working on a big company was already a big deal, playing a huge part on it was something anybody could dream of. Y/N was a clever, smart woman and her dad always knew, that's why he arranged the connections for her daughter to get a good, stable job... And it wasn't much of a deal, Robert and David had been partners for years now, as soon as David found out Y/N was out for business, he wanted to have her on his company and Robert gladly accepted. The first month wasn't much of a success for her, but as soon as the sales went up, everything went up for her.

Actually, Y/N was taking the lead of Robert's legacy, her dad had been building a reputation around his last name, meanwhile David thought it was time for him to rest, leaving his elder son, Calum, on charge of his marketing company. The first time Calum & Y/N met, she was completely pleased, she knew for a fact she'd win Calum's trust exactly like her mother taught her to, and within 2 months, Calum was already under a -friendly- spell without even knowing

"I don't think it'd be a good idea to make that campaign" an executive from the board says as soon as Y/N finishes to give their idea. Y/N scoffs loudly and that immediately caught Calum's attention, he already knew she'd have a strong opinion "When you think of a restaurant, what do you think? Besides the food, you think of the place and the people you'd like to go with. That's exactly what's on my mind, I'm not trying to sell the image of the place like some sort of bar restaurant where you'd crash with your not-so-close friends, I'm portraying the restaurant as a cozy, warm place where you'd see yourself sharing birthdays in, where you'd go out with your family or even where you'd celebrate your anniversary" by now, Calum's eyebrows were raised in bemusement, there was no doubt that Y/N was a genius and no one could fight that "You need to sell the image of the dishes, people need to know that if they go there, they'd taste one of the best meals of their life" John was going for Y/N's throat, but Calum was internally begging that she would leave him speechless "John, how many restaurant commercials have you seen where they try to sell the perfect meal? Just take a peak at McDonald's marketing, you see one of the most amazing burgers on the commercials but once you actually go to the restaurant you find something totally different" everybody on the board loved these kinds of discussions "People don't buy that thing anymore, it's over. But think about it deeply, why do we keep coming back to McDonald's? Because it's a place where you have a good time with your friends, family and children, it's a place where you mostly have good memories in since you were a child, am I right?" John's embarrassment was something even the blind could notice "That's exactly what I'm trying to go for, a place where you'd find yourself creating amazing memories. And what do people say? You keep coming back to the places where you were happy" and those were serious points proven, once again, Y/N's idea had beaten everyone else's. Calum and her shared a complicity look while smirking, the board went for Y/N's idea "Y/N, meet me at my office in half an hour" Calum says stiffly, she just simply nods and walks away to pour herself some coffee, Calum smiles pleasant, knowing his dad made the right decision in hiring her for the board

Later that day, Y/N told Calum's secretary that he told her to meet him at his office, the brunette girl only nodded and smiled, motioning her to go in, after a couple of knockings and the word «come in» she entered the office "Boss" she politely greets, he smiles back at her "Y/N, please sit" there were at least five places to sit on his enormous office "You wanted to see me because...?" the nervousness running through Y/N's system was always there present whenever she sees her boss, but of course, she manages to play it cool... Or at least that's what she thinks "Because I've wanted to talk to you about your work before but I haven't had the chance, so allow me to" he stands, fixing his tie "Your work has been exceptional all along and that's something worth congratulating for" he walks to his little bar "Do you want a coffee? Or something more strong?" he politely asks "Coffee will be fine" she answers with a smile, Calum starts pouring coffee into a cup, then grabbing scotch for himself, Y/N didn't understood the thing business man have with drinking scotch nonstop "There you go" he hands her the cup with the black, strong liquid "thanks" she barely mouths, intrigued by her boss.

Calum, on the other hand, didn't even know how to start, he wasn't sure at all if it was fine for him to do it, he's the boss, but she was her father's best buddy's daughter. "Then again, you're one of the best, if not the best, of my workers, Y/N" he lightly plays with his fingers around the cup "Thank you, boss" she smiles, she knows she's attracted to him, not only for his physic but for his intelligence and personality, unlike many other bosses, Calum doesn't have that man-whore reputation bosses usually do, if he ever fucks with a secretary or something, he keeps things very low key "Stop calling me boss" he chuckles "call me Calum" his smile shows his teeth, Y/N's cheeks were now with a reddish tone "Calum" she repeats

"Look, Y/N, I'm straightforward and I don't know any other ways so I'm about to be again. There's reasons why I called you, congratulate you was one of them, the other thing is" he clears his throat, Y/N's hands clutch onto the cup as if it would make her feel nervous-less "I've always thought that you're a beautiful woman, but once I got to know you, I couldn't help but feel highly attracted to you. That daringly instincts of yours are something I appreciate, you're perspicacious and I admire that on a woman" by now, her throat was dry and she feels as if she was running out of air, she certainly can't believe that was happing to her, right there "So I—um, wanted to ask you if you'd like to go out someday, we could get to meet each other more leaving the business behind for a minute" now Calum didn't seem so... bossy? The fact that he was being nervous yet confident asking her to go out with him made Y/N feel someway, somehow, pleased.

"I would like to, I really do. But wouldn't it affect our business relationship? I mean, seeing your boss really has to hit you someway" she asks with concern, if there was something Y/N couldn't stand was gossiping, she was really mature and self-focused to even mind anyone else's business, but that wasn't the case on this company, she knew that as soon as people find out they were seeing each other, she'd be put like the worst whore in town "I get that, but we could be as low key as possible" he waited expectant for an answer, Y/N thought twice, but then again, she won't have this opportunity again if she declines it, she -kind of- knows the type of man Calum is, there would be no second questions "Okay" she smiles looking at him, he raises both eyebrows in bemusement "Okay?" His smile makes his eyes crinkle, making Y/N feel more attracted than ever. Is this guy seriously asking her out? He's smart, clever, intelligent and also, knows how to use sarcasm... And of course, his physic is a plus

"Yeah, why not? I bet you and I will have a good time together" the nervousness of Y/N leaves her body as she gains confidence, this is all she wanted to hear from him and now she did.
