Meeting the family.

—If my dad asks anything about basketball, just praise MJ the whole time -I giggle, but he just stays quiet- baby?

—What?

—Are you okay? -I ask amused-

—No, I'm fucking nervous!

I can't help it, I burst out of laugh. Calum is way too shy or quiet most of the times and my family is the complete opposite, they're always so sparkly, joking with everyone, they're really easy to talk to but as I've been telling him stories about them, he just worries they won't like him. I'm positive they will.

—Hey! Don't be nervous, they don't bite.

He sighs and leans his forehead on the steering wheel, we've already parked outside my parents' house but he's gaining the courage to step out of the car.

—Couldn't you meet my parents first?

—Yes, because it's easier to go to Australia than driving 6hrs. -I cynically say- come on, I'm starving -I open the passenger door but he stops me-

—Wait! Just, don't kiss me in front of your parents... Or your brother.

—Hey, Katy is not my mom, just step mother! And, are you thirteen, Calum? We're grown ups, we're together and they're not stupid, of course there's sex included – so kissing is not a big deal... And it's not like I'm going to start a make-out session in front of them.

—I know we're grown ups but still, I don't know if your dad might find it awkward to see us kiss, you're his only daughter after all.

—Oh man, let's just go!

—I mean it, babe -he glares at me and I just chuckle-

We hop down the car and I eagerly jog to the front door knocking a couple of times, by the moment my dad opens, Cal is already by my side. I jump to hug my father.

—Dad!! I've missed you

—I've missed you too, little girl -he holds me, but let go in a couple of seconds- so, you must be Calum, the boyfriend, right? -my dad says while looking at Cal-

This is gonna be funny.

—Yes, sir. Nice to meet you -he extends his hand, my dad shakes it- I've been told a lot about you

—Good things only, am I right? -he chuckles- come on in. Your brother's waiting for you! -he steps aside and I go find Anthony-

—Anth?! -I shout, really excited to see him. But instead, I find Katy- Oh, hey there -I politely smile, giving her a hug-

—Y/N! It feels like we haven't seen each other in years!

—I know, right?

—Yeah, your father told me you were bringing someone in but I don't see him anywhere -she smirks and I laugh-

—Oh, he's with dad, I'll introduce you in a bit. Do you know where's Anth?

—So you think leaving him with your father alone the first time they see each other is a good idea? -she amusingly raises one eyebrow at me-

—Oh, come on. It's not like dad's gonna kill him or anything!

—Not at all, but he's definitely going to tease him or make him feel nervous on purpose... You know your dad! Go save that man and I'll go find Anthony

My dad is a clown, he just likes to joke around and tease people, or act naïve on purpose just for a good laugh, but I already told Calum about it. Either way, I decide to go back with them as I wait for my brother.
