(A reminder that Via is dressed up as a male. Plus. I recommend you to not play the song above until you see: "Play now")
"Ma- Ma'am! I really can't work here. I'm sorry!" I quickly say to the lady manager while she pushed me to serve the guests.
"Why not? You're perfect for this job!" She looked at me, flabbergasted. My face grows red at the mention of such... job.
"It's really not for me." I smiled uneasily.
I can almost see her enthusiasm deflating like a balloon as she looked down dejectedly. "Are you sure? We'll pay you handsomely and all you have to do is get more customers."
I flat-out rejected her with no hesitation. "I'm sure."
Then she resorted to using the puppy eyes on me. Imagine a fat, old woman with small, little eyes. And she's trying to blink those beady eyes at you amongst all the meat and fat.
Yep. Pretty Horrifying.
Feeling my skin crawl, I gave into my fear and sighed. "Just this once."
She smiled victoriously, but my next words made her confused.
"Get me a mic."
I start walking towards the big stage that was placed in the middle of the shop while the confused lady boss beckons a servant to bring her a mic.
As I stepped onto the stage, some of the people who were chatting start to take notice of me and stared bewilderedly.
The lady manager came up to me to hand the mic while asking in a hushed voice, "What are you doing?"
"You'll see," I replied and proceeded to usher her off the stage.
Taking in a deep breath, I summoned my magic and made it tangible. Proceeding to use my imagination, I crafted my magic into a round yet rectangular shape. Slowly, it took the form of a grand white piano in the middle of the stage. Placing the mic on a stand (which I also created), I sat myself down on the bench and lifted up the cover. Touching the piano keys nostalgically, I smiled softly before pressing the first note.
The first note played softly, almost unheard as if you're being caressed by the wind. Then it was repeated again, only this time with more force. Yet it still sounded as soft as a lullaby.
To the audience, the person that sat in the middle of the giant white piano looked somewhat like a devil. So alluring to the point that one would lose their mind and yet would still mindlessly follow him forever. Dressed in flowing red with black hair falling down his back, he looked exactly like an evildoer yet his face had such a gentle look that one would want to reach out and caress it.
(Play Now)
Alone
I sit alone
My mind runs on its own
The devil sang, yet his voice was as gentle as an angel. It was mellow and sweet, pleasing to the ear. Low and slightly raspy. It sounded so sad and heartbreaking. Some people stop and enter the shop to listen to the song and when the shop was full, people started to crowd around the entrance.
Neodo apeujanha 'cause you're mine
I just want to blow your mind
Ireohge neon tto meoleojyeo man ganeunde
Everything's alright, I say
Even though it's not okay.
Sasileun naega, geuge aninga bwa
The language changed in the pre-chorus and changes back to English randomly. Yet that not only didn't deter the charm of the song, it even made more enchanting. Although the people could not understand what the man said, it sounded like whispers of love and endearment to them, sweetening their hearts. Yet the few English lines made them felt a pang of pain in their heart, creating a bittersweet feeling.
I want you to be your light, baby
You should be your light.
So you never hurt again
So that you can smile again
I want you to be your night, babe
You could be your night
Ibami neoege soljighal su issge
Soon, the song was nearing its end and his voice began to grow soft, making people strain their ears to hear them.
I want you to promise me, oh-oh
Even if you're lonely, oh-oh
Even if it's every day, oh-oh
Don't throw yourself away, oh-oh
Oh-oh, oh-oh na oh-oh
His voice grew even softer if possible. Solemn and sweet, each word engraved themselves into the watcher's hearts as he said them slowly and clearly.
Let's pause for a moment now
Hook your pinkie with mine
I want you to promise me, oh-oh oh-oh
The piano played its few last notes, each growing softer than the ones before it. Then it disappeared altogether. The people were dazed, lost in the devil's lullaby. They didn't even notice when the person on stage left as the piano disappear along with the person.
Walking by the dazed boss, Via simply said, "I got lots of customers."
Then she grabbed Edward and left by the back door. Not long after she left, the people erupted in a bout of cheers and claps but the person is already long gone, leaving them in confusion. However, that person was currently humming happily as she skips down an empty street.
"What's up?" I asked him, noticing him staring at me with a weird look in his eyes.
"Why did you pick to sing that song?"
"... because I want to? Plus didn't it sounded nice?"
His eyes widen at my answer before he started to chuckle to himself. Looking at him questioningly, he smiled at me before answer, "Of course, of course."
Little did I know that the song touched his heart.
Honestly. I just had that song stuck in my head since when it first came out, Luna showed it to me and even made me sing along with her. Both the Korean and the English cover! Although I had to admit, it has a very sweet melody to it.

I do not own the songs or lyrics! Absolutely not! I just have the song stuck in my head after my cousin showed me it.
Btw, Anybody has any name recommendation for Edward??? I really want to change it...
