monday came, and it was haewon's birthday. she was greeted by lots of people, since she became well-known due to hyungwon's popularity. there was still one thing bothering haewon; what jeonghan told her on her party.

lunch time came, and as usual, jisoo, jeonghan, and seungcheol joined haewon for lunch. sojung and haewon are very annoyed, mostly because they can't talk about their private stuff because of them. as for wonwoo, he doesn't have a clue about anything and accepts jisoo and his friends in their squad.

"jeonghan?" haewon asked. "i'm gonna talk to you for a second. in private." the other four on the table looked at them weirdly, as if they had done something wrong. haewon just shrugged it off and left the cafeteria, jeonghan following her behind.

"yeah?" jeonghan asked, once they reached an empty hallway. haewon immediately asked him, "what do you mean about what you said in my party?" she crossed her arms and gave the boy across her a little stink eye.

jeonghan chuckled. "i knew that you were gonna ask that." he said. "i know you're that haewon from elementary and middle school."

"you see, i've liked you since 6th grade." he explained. "it wasn't my choice to bully you nor tease you. jisoo is my best friend, and he's been through a lot back in middle school. he was always so sad and i guess he always took his anger out on you."

haewon suddenly cringed when she remembered how they used to make her life miserable.

"i was always heartbroken everytime i saw you. not only because i forcefully bully the girl i like, but also how you look at jisoo. your eyes were always filled with love when you looked at jisoo, and that made me jealous."

"when you confessed to him that day, i couldn't help but fill with anger. how he rejected you, and how he treated you. when you left for another high school, i moved on. but now the three of us got a scholarship to cheongdam, and when i saw you, i immediately thought and felt that you were different."

"now looking back, all my feelings returned to you. so please, haewon. please give me a chance..." he said.

haewon was speechless after she heard his side of the story. "jeonghan... i don't know. can you give me just a little more time?"

"i'd give all the time of the world to you." he said, a smirk forming on his face. haewon playfully slapped his forearm, and he flinched at that.

"you're so cheesy." haewon said, chuckling. "but seriously, i just need more time. maybe, just maybe, i'll feel the same way, too. thank you, jeonghan."

"thanks for what?" he asked. "for being so honest and thoughtful." she replied.

"oh, it's nothing." he said. "now, let's go back to the others before they suspect anything."

"actually, i'll stay here for a bit. i need some time to myself after what you told me." she said.

"okay." jeonghan said. "see you."

they parted ways and haewon went to the rooftop. she sat down on the small block on the rooftop, leaned her head on the wall to her right, closed her eyes, trying to relax. suddenly, she heard a voice behind her.

"haewon?" the voice said. she turned around and saw, "seungcheol?"

"what are you doing here?" he asked.

"i could ask you the same." she said.

"i'm here because i went to the bathroom, but on the way, the door to the rooftop was open, and i never saw it open. i came here to check, and i saw you here." he explained. "how about you?"

"i j-just needed to get some fresh air..." she said, her voice trailing off. seungcheol sat down on the floor on her left, since there were no more places near haewon to sit on.

she was partly shocked that seungcheol decided to sit beside her, and partly annoyed that he ruined her time by herself. she decided to not let it bother her, and closed her eyes once again, leaning on the wall to her right.

though silence filled the area, haewon didn't mind it. it was more of a relaxing silence for her, but she could sense that seungcheol thought otherwise.

"actually..." seungcheol said, breaking the silence. "i'm here for a different reason. i want to tell you something. something very important."
