Chapter 30 ~The End

This is the last chapter of this book! I hope you like it! || Disclaimer: this chapter talks about rape and suicide!

Once my name was called, it all set in. This is real, I am going to tell everyone what happened to me.

I stood up and walked on the stage in front of the whole school. I looked out into the audience to find Marianna, Elle, and Scarlette holding Aria and Amberly on their laps.

"MOMMY!" Aria yelled from her seat on Elle's lap, jumping off and running to me on stage. I couldn't help but smile

"Well," I started, "as many of you already know, a rumour was sent out by text a few weeks ago. If you haven't seen it, it said that I was a mother and asked who, and I quote, 'knocked me up'. Well, I am going to tell you who, now. When I was in grade nine, I went on a date with a guy I had a crush on for years, we watched a movie, and everything was going great. Until he took me to a college party. He brought me a drink that I am assuming was drugged because it wasn't alcoholic, I only have one drink, and I got dizzy a few hours later when the guy I went on a date with got drunk, or I thought he did at least, I brought him to a room upstairs so he could sleep. When we go in the room, he," I stopped,

I looked around to see people smiling and laughing at me.

"He raped me," I blurted.

I heard gasps from almost everyone in the crowd. Everyone laughing stopped dead in their tracks and just looked at me.

"After a few weeks, I started craving foods I hated, I started gaining weight and throwing up, it was now about a month later and I took a pregnancy test, it came back positive. Once I started to show a lot more, I lost all my friends and even most of my family. My mom, my dad, me and my daughters, moved here to get away from the people who called me the 'town slut',"

"Marianna can you bring Amberly up?" I asked as she nodded.

"These are my daughters, the result in a horrible night," I smiled, "someone asked me once if I would go back and never go on that date if I knew what was going to happen. I still don't know how to answer that because I don't want to have been raped but without it, I wouldn't have the two things that make me the happiest, my daughters," I looked down at Amberly tapping my leg.

"What Hun?"

"Perthy is here," she pointed to Percy standing at the back of the crowd, before running to him and jumping in his arms.

"To end this little explanation, I just want to say that you shouldn't always believe what you read from a text sent from a jealous high school bully," the whole crowd laughed and applauded as I walked off the stage.

"Thank you, Emery," Mr. Wilton said and ending the assembly. When everything was done, I went and looked for Marianna.

"Emery!" Marianna yelled from behind me, "Ashley is looking for you,"

"Uh oh, what does the wench want now?"

"I don't know but she said she wants you to meet her in the parking lot alone," Marianna answered

"Ok, can you watch them while I go talk to her?" I asked "Sure,"

I walked behind the school to the parking lot and went to Ashley's car where she was waiting.

"Hey," she started as I got to the parking lot.

"Hey?"

"I just wanted to say I am sorry, I should never have sent out that text without knowing the whole story," she apologized, "I was a result of rape, I get how it feels and your daughters will wonder soon who their father is, if I were you, I would tell them soon, I hated my mom for not telling me," she confessed.

"I am so sorry to hear that,"

"I wish I didn't get angry, I drove my mom to suicide, I said such hurtful things to her before she died, I wish I could take all back,"

"It's not your fault she died, believe me, I contemplated ending my life several times, some people just can't handle the pain," I resonated with her.

"You are the strongest person I have ever met, I am so sorry I ruined everything for you,"

"You didn't"

When I got back to where I left Marianna with the twins she was gone and the twins were with Percy,

"Hey, where is Marianna," I asked

"She had to go, I said I would watch them," he smiled

"Oh ok, sorry you had to watch them,"

"It's ok, I missed them anyway,"

"I think they missed you too," I laughed,

"I didn't only miss them," he put Amberly down beside Aria, "I was stupid not to fight for you, I was stupid to think that we couldn't handle a little long distance,"

"Are you willing to try?" I asked,

"Yes," he smiled, "I love you,"

"I love you too," I confessed unable to stay angry with him. He bent down and kissed me as I stood on the tip of my toes,

"Your speech was beautiful, I think Ashley liked it too," he said pulling away.

"Oh, I bet she loved being called out in front of everyone," I laughed

"What now? Schools over," he asked.

"We still have all summer,"

"I know, what colleges have you applied to?"

"Harvard,"

"That's it"

"It is the only one I have ever wanted to go too and it's only a 29-hour drive away," he smiled picking Amberly back up, "I could drive to see you all the time,"

"Or I could drive to see you,"

"Really? You would drive?" he asked unbelievingly.

"Ya, I need some more practice, but I would," I smiled again,

"You are adorable when you drive, I need to see you do it more,"

"Are you sure you want to do Long distance?"

"For you, I would do anything,"

I just want to say thank you for everyone that read the book while wrote it! I also want to say that I have never experienced rape so if I got how you feel after it wrong I am sorry.  I tried my best and I know some people won't like the ending because Ace was never punished but not all rapists get their rightful punishment.
