I handed the little mirror and let him look at it.

Another good thing about this job is the tips. Them shits be hitting.
I looked at the time and it was 6:20. I put my clippers back and grabbed my time card clocking out. After I clocked out I went in the back to Larry's office.
"Aye I'm finna swerve can I get my check now?" I asked him
"Oh yeah. I almost forgot" he laughed
Ian find nothing funny though. Ion play bout my bread. I looked at him with a straight face while he unlocked his desk. He flipped through a few envelopes before handing me one with my name on it.
I ripped it open and looked at my check. I make $525. I never cashed my check from last week tho because me and menace agreed to save two checks each so we could get the car and take the girls shopping.
When I walked out the barber shop Mekhi was walking out the tobacco store.
"Now we go home and ask mama how the fuck we supposed to cash our checks" he said with this big goofy ass smile
I shook my head and we started walking in the direction of the hood. While we were walking we passed by the park. I looked and Niya and Ashley were sitting on the bench.
In the past two weeks a nigga be on his bullshit. I can't even lie, me and Mekhi been showing our ass outchea in the streets.
But with that being said I ain't really had time to kick it with shorty lately. She looked over at us and waved. I nodded my head and motioned for her to come here. Her and Ashley got up and walked towards us.
"Hey frienddddd" she exclaimed as she walked up and hugged me
"Wassup beautiful" I said making her blush as usual
She gone stop trying to play me with that friend shit. I don't need no fucking friends. I needs me a wife.
"Where you been man? Haven't talked to you in like 3 days" she asked as I through my arm over her shoulder walking down the street to the house
I love living in the hood but at the same time I hate it. All you hear is gunshots and sirens and helicopters. But you get used to it eventually.
We got to the house ma was sitting on the porch while the girls played in the yard.
"BUBBY" Mina screamed when she saw mekhi making Mira look up
Mina ran up to Mekhi while Mira ran up to me.
"Tae Tae!" She yelled as I took my arm from around Niya and picked her up
"Hey pretty girl" I said throwing her up in the air a little bit

She nodded and walked to the porch with me while I carried Mira.
"Ma this is my friend Niya. Niya this is my mom Darcie but everybody calls her ma" I introduced them
"Nice to meet you love. This the first time I've ever heard devonte use the word friend so you must be special" ma said trying to be all slick and shit
